I am going to be joining to the Navy within the next couple months. Passed the ASVAB and I have to fill out some more paper work and get the physical probably next week. Then off to Great Lakes, IL for boot camp! Pretty damn excited about it too. Ready to travel the world & serve my country.

There is a minimum score you have to get in order to join so technically I passed.

Go with CE. It'll be easier to swing that into a solid career once you get out. Changing pipes on the other hand... nah. Don't do that to yourself. You'll hate life.

Good luck. Stash/invest half your bonus, live in the barracks til you can stack some paper up, stay away from the scallywags who wanna get knocked up so they don't have to go on deployment and go ahead and put your G.I. Bill to good use and you won't be stuck like a lot of people when it's time to get out.

It is a great opportunity...take full advantage of all the service has to offer you. 

A lady friend of mine is in the Nuclear Reactor program...real intelligent and has gotten to do some amazing things from the Naval Academy and the Navy.
