The first Blueprint is my favorite rap album of all-time. I remember getting the bootleg tape a few weeks earlier but was still at the Sam Goody's at midnight to cop him and Fab's 1st album and drove around NYC. Swung by Gray's Papaya's on the way home for that $2.25 special and even remember seeing the towers that night on my way home.

Woke up the next morning to see them falling. One of the most memorable 12 hour span of my life I'll never forget.

Ghetto Fabolous came out on 9/11 too. I scooped both. Tuesdays from around 1999-2003 were always appreciated.

Blueprint 1 is not a classic with skippable tracks like Jigga that ***** and Hola Hovito, just stop :lol:

“The influence of recorded sound over its nearly 160-year history has been profound and technology has increased its reach and significance exponentially,” expounded Librarian of Congress's Carla Hayden in a statement. “The Library of Congress and its many collaborators are working to preserve these sounds and moments in time, which reflect our past, present and future.”


A rap offering that emerged just as the September 11 attacks took place, The Blueprint is inarguably Jay-Z’s most visceral, personal and reputable body of work. The album’s success was contingent on Jay-Z’s ability to solidify his credibility and forge his legacy as one of music’s greatest rappers, on the heels of facing charges on assault and weapons possession that could have dramatically impacted his life and career.

But Jay is a snake and gets too much credit/is overrated in everything he does or has done.
 
Reasonable doubt one of my all time faves. Timeless music and he has done great things for the culture. I'm sure I'll never meet that brotha but he's one of 3 celebs I look up to. Man "Hov's a living legend and I'll tell you why everybody wanna be Hov and Hov still alive."

its just crazy how he did all his rhymes from classic songs/album all from the dome.... nothing was written on paper

Dame loud mouth wasn’t good enough to bring up to the top with jay. If you call him a snake to his face I’m sure he’d ask you Have you ever in ya long legged life ever seen a watch surrounded by this much pink ice.
