Did my final interview with Apple yesterday they got back to me today and I am now the newest Apple Specialist. So excited considering how bad it is out there. Wish everyone luck on their career and finding employment

So, about 5 different unrecogized numbers call me right. Im thinking and hoping its a job calling for an interview. But nope. All 5 had the wrong number.

Well another update on my progress..something must seriously b wrong with me to not get this job or offered it..

This teaching assistant job that I interviewed last week only paid 9.64 with full benefits..and I would be able to finish my graduate work while working told me that they could not offer me a position for some reason..a TEACHING ASSISTANT job..when I have been a teacher for over 2.5 years already..I didn't say anything wrong because she barely asked me any questions..and I responded with an enthusiastic manner as well..I don't understand what these coordinators/human resource people think sometimes to not offer someone with a diverse body of teaching experience already to warrant me to get offered the position..smh..

My interviews today in Brooklyn went aight..I wasn't into one of the schools because they just seemed rude..so I would not take that position if it was offered to me..but I think did well at the other school..and I would like to work there if they offered me..

Friday gotta go to another interview around my area..then Monday got an interview in the Bronx..I keep on plugging away..

hye man, this is somewhat offtop... have you ever considered going overseas to teach?  i've been srsly researching about going over to china and teaching English.. only problem is im 15 and can't fake a passport like I did with my degree.  I could try but I don't wanna end up in jail.

Anyway, teaching in China.... you won't get paid much but you've got experience so you might get more than average.  Plus you work like 20 hours a week and if you wanted more dough.. you could teach English to private students.  They generally provide a free apartment and cost of living is super dirt cheap.

Just got an email to come in for a group interview with apple. Surprised to get an email back because I applied for the business manager position which I dont have any managment experience just alot of sales experience including sales with B2B. Going for the big fish on this one. Glassdoor.com says business managers make 70k to 100k. Hope I get it.

For all apple employees any info on how the interview went or what questions they asked?

Ive been on my new job grind for a year and no luck. I was interviewed and hired by the sub verizon company but the training was cancelled on me so i had to stay at my old job. Im still trying to climb up, and im focused. i need Nt to shed some light on how i can get out, i love yall because you'll always come with good helpful info. Sidenote: Where i live, telemarketing is king.

This may or may not help you but ill tell you what ive learned so far.  Im 27 years old went the route of doing sales the past 10 years becuase the most money was in it.  I made ranges of 55k to 80k doing sales and at the same time gettting my degree in marketing.  Im currently burned out in sales and retail and want to get out.  Now its a struggle for me to find a job in a corporate setting away from sales like a marketing job because mainly I decided not to do entry level work and I have beginner excel experience.  My suggestion to you is look for a job that gives you those skills.  Something entry level then move your way up.  These employers see my degree and want experience on top of it, which has been frustrating for me.

Also telemarketing is a dead end job dont waste your time.

I just got done with the background check and drug screening done for my next IT job Desktop Support. I signed my offer letter last week. I start next Monday. I've done this work in my career before and it's alright being in the field and interfacing with the users while also doing the hands on work on both hardware & software side of PC's.
Bad part though is that I took a big cut in pay considering I was doing the same work 2 years ago for another company and was making a lot more $$$. For this job I could have made $3 more an hour if opted to go without benefits and the only thing I would have got was 8 paid federal holidays. I opted for the lesser pay which gives me 2 weeks paid holiday, 8 sick days, medical & dental benefits, and a option to enroll in 401K but the company does not match it.

It helped that I worked for the company 9 years ago and know the project manager pretty good.

Main advice I'm giving here is: network with current & past employers, don't burn any bridges, network with managers & co workers.

Especially for IT jobs nowadays. You got to keep in contact with the right people when looking for work

I am in the process of changing careers. My man who's working on the management side of the Marketing department at Puma Headquarters, is trying to get me in. I'm going for that Assistant Product Line Manager position....So I hope it all works out. I have an phone interview next week.

My suggestion is prayers...
Not only that, I think you need to figure out what is it that you want to do.  If it's I.T., invest in buying a certification book and get certified.  No need to go to school when you can save up and pay for the certification yourself.  They will pay you top dollars just for it.  Some of these certs can get you starting at least at 40K in the door, 30K with no experience. (PMP certs starts at about 60K) There are programs out there that will train you for free and federal grant/programs that will get you back into school.  You can get certified in accounting, HVAC, project management (PMP), personal training, etc... Just figure out what you want to do.

Open up your network connection. Start calling family members, friends, non-profit organizations.  A great suggestion, instead of staying home, find a local company/small business to intern with or work for free. (On the weekends)  Have your resume as if you are gong to a  job interview and ask if they need help.  If you are into fashion or sneakers, find a local shop and explain to them that you would love to learn the business and work as an intern.  They may have an internship program.  If they don't have an internship, then offer to work for free. That way you can put it on your resume and accumulate more skills.  Eventually, you may find yourself working for that same small business.

I pray the best for you.

Funny you say that.  I met A.H. on a website 6 years ago. We've been friends ever since.  Mind you, I never met him in person. (laughing) We share photos, phone convos, brought gifts for each other kids, etc.  We're suppose to be linking up this year for the first time.
I tell people all the time, don't be afraid to ask anyone.  Worse case is "NO", (laughing)

You should apply for teaching jobs in Atlanta.  They're are seriously looking for teachers due to the latest CRCT cheating scandal.  There are programs you can join; Teach for America,  MATReC (Atlanta), TeachGeoriga. They will pay you while training.

I've taught overseas for a year and a half right now.  My current two year contract ends in March.  I make about 1900-2200 a month (depending on exchange rate), no taxes are taken out (US or this country), and they hook you up with an apartment rent free.  The teaching is relatively easy, 22 classes a week, and the kids here are usually great.  I am taking the GRE's in November and will be doing a master's program.  Otherwise, given the current job market back home I would of probably re-contracted for another year.  If you are open to a new experience definitely give some thought to teaching abroad.  As someone with experience you should be highly sought after.  The experience is quite awesome as well.  There are a large number of foreign teachers here and you really have a great chance to meet people and connect.  It's not for everyone, but it's certainly an option.

I received a call from Aerotek (a staffing agency) and the woman I spoke to said she came across my resume and was interested in speaking with me about a position as a Job Recruiter. We had about a 10 min conversation about the requirements and responsibilities of the job and then set up a screening call on Monday. However, through my research online some people said it was a shady company and a few people said it was a pyramid scheme.

The thing that confused me though was that the woman I spoke to said I would be making $40k a year to start plus commission. So then how would that be a pyramid scheme? I've had a few pyramid scheme guys offer me jobs but they were always commission only which raised a red flag causing me to avoid them.

Does anybody have experience with Aerotek? I'm still gonna go through with the screening call on Monday but just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them
