It really depends on the pair, I’ve seen good ones I’ve seen bad ones. I’m happy with my pair.

Still can't believe these haven't hit sales yet. I'm itching for my pair. Went to local mall and they sitting at SP and FTL HOH. Hopefully discount soon.

They really do. I’ve worn my pair literally once. Every time I go to reach for them, I get cold feet and reach for Flus, Chi’s, or even the last Playoffs instead lol.

I still care though, every time I put on a pair I still like remembering walking into Athletes Foot for original WC 3s day they went on sale and my pops sayin "u r Fn crazy if you think I'm paying that much for sneakers". nostalgia, memories, BLIND DEVOTION NO DOUBT, til death do us part OLDnCORNY IS THA WAI OF THA WALK
I'd never knock what anyone chooses to wear, but, that's why I would wear a bad bad pair of Taxis before any other brand, sue me, and take pics of me on my porch shaking my cane at all the passer byes with them on still untied with a rag to keep em clean even though they r TURBLE

i read back on this thread because i’ve been debating getting a pair since i never had taxis
i find it pretty hilarious how a guy named “Mr OG or Bust” swayed an entire thread and even had people returning their pairs lol. his name is literally OG or bust
the best part is i watched his video on the bugs bunny 8s and he complained about the 8s NOT having the banana shape and the 2025 being “too bulky for a basketball shoe”. which is the issue everyone seems to be having with the taxis
i am glad people aren’t buying though if they don’t like them. i been saying for a while every shoe should be done to their best NOT just the “remastered” versions…but a lot of people didn’t have a problem with them til some guy who’s a stickler for OG molds (never ever happening again though) pointed out every issue on a youtube video
i’ll have to see them in person to decide for myself. i remember buying retro’s that were awful but we had no other choice if you really wanted that version again. i think they’re doing a lot better. i don’t see these taxis being what say the grape 5s were like when they dropped back in the early 2010s after forever…now THOSE were BAD

C’mon fam, I think it’s totally reasonable that people wouldn’t want to pay $215 retail (+ tax and potentially shipping) for this release, given the issues. I say this as someone who is waiting for another sub $150 disco drop of this release as well (since I always wanted the Taxi cw). I get Nike/JB are too cheap to fix the overall mold of the Jordan 12 retros but they could at least have had better QC on this specific Taxi release if they are charging that much for retail.

oh i completely agree
i took a huge step back on buying releases since i had a kid. even now i say im debating buying them after they been out 2 months and thats because $215 plus tax just doesn’t make sense in my life right now. i think if you go back i even posted about how i became used to seeing signatures like ja and ant man sell for sub 150 making jordan retros seem that more expensive
my gripe was more about how some guy on youtube made a lot of people who were excited about the shoe and even bought it, pull a 180. they didn’t have a problem with it before this dude pointed out every flaw
now whether or not people want to say that’s a good thing i guess is up to them.
i just feel like he sucked a lot of happiness from people who waited on this shoe for a long time or even grew up seeing that shoe on mike that didn’t see a problem with it before that video

Lots of people had problems with this release way before OG or Busts vid was put on here. Im not sure how far you read into this thread, but the shape talk had been going on for quite some time before it released. The impact your saying that video had in here may be a little exaggerated. I also wanted these, but the closer to the release it got, I just couldnt. Personally, I like the OG or Bust vids, and I have pairs that he has trashed that I still like.

YouTuber didn’t sway my opinion. My shipped pair looking like an L was the determining factor. Had a gs size as a kid, albeit in different colorways, but I knew what didn’t look right with my own eyes.
If I didn’t have royalty pair which was basically a taxi color, I might’ve kept them. But the shape wasn’t an improvement AND I didn’t need two of the same shoe in essence. Even at a heavy discount, I’ll pass on these, unfortunately.

I've worn my pair a couple of times. I like them, they look good on me. Wore them on Christmas day and got compliments from family members.. they were all 60 and up tho lol

Jordan Brand execution has been an issue since I can remember .. the YouTuber didn’t create the criticism, he just stamped what a lot of people have been saying already on this site for years
The 8 and the 12 are completely different shoes so I do t see the issue at the points he was making. We’ve seen a damn near perfect retro in the 2015 8s, so it’s fair to question why the shoes is worse now at a higher price point. If the changes improved function, comfort, or performance, that’d be one thing. I’m not understanding their angle because it seems like they’re just disrespecting their history of their products.
