Jordan 12 OG taxi 2025 FINALLY!!!

There’s been 13 OG colorways that dropped this year, 15 if you include the Chicago and Royal 1 lows. The taxis are dead last and it’s not even close for me personally.

It’s rare in the past 5 years they make something that’s a complete step back and in no way resembling the OG shape, stitching, material quality. This one really delivers on being bad in every possible way at the highest price ever. It was a no brainer to pass and seeing them in person only confirmed it.

I have the Playoffs 22 and Cherry 23, and yesterday i tried once again the playoffs, and what a great quality it is impressiv. The sizing and the containment are so great and now i can appreciate a bit more the cushion.
For me they are better than the cherry and it really makes me feel happy because in 2022 i was not sure to grab this colorway. I love the game 1 against Miami, and his last shot in the Game 1 vs utah.
I don't think the playoffs colorway have a lot of sucess.
Same thing for the Cherry, now i discovered the qualtiy of the Taxi, i really don't regret to grab them.
The thing with the taxi is, i love the leather even if it is weird, i love the fact they are slightly lighter, and maybe the midsole on the heel is just a little bit softer than the playoffs and the cherry and i love it when a midsole is soft.
But for example, about the quality, if i want to put them on, i have to unlace the last eyeloop because of the shape, and the big arch of my foot, but the lace stay blocked into the "metal" eyelet, there is not enough space for the lace to move or to slide, so you have to push really hard the plastic part of the lace and i didn't get this issue before.
(the Dark Shadow it is the opposite issue, the lace are too much easier to pass into the loop compare to the NYC).
But to come back to the cherry, i had the pinkye toe issue the first hours almost on the right foot but not with the Taxi while the Taxi are snug, i have the feeling i won't have this issue and i really don't know why.
I will try them more to confirm it.
While the sizing is also perfect, my right foot make a squeak sound in the middle of the shoes when i walk because of the new shape, and my big arch. It is ok with the left shoe.
So yes the quality is really really bad on the Taxi. But the fact that they are sleek, and just slightly lighter, make me want to play ball with them.
Fist time i see this kind of differences on the pic.

I actually find this retro of the Taxi very comfy. I unds them today and I feel it was the only 12 that didn’t bother my arches and the underfoot cushion felt more comfy right out of the box.

13 OGs isn’t a lot of releases given we basically have releases every week. These Taxis are a ripoff at $215 retail but there have been worse OG releases in the past as well ($200 retail 2014 Legend Blue 11s come to mind, which is almost $275 today).

I mean in 2016 we had 4 OG cws of just OG AJ 1 Highs and none of them were “reimagined” plus a ton of other OG cws, so it isn’t like getting OG cw releases once a month is a new thing.

No. I got what you were getting at. But JB has been living off of retro+ colorways filling up weekly releases for years now. That’s BEEN the JB way.

For whatever reason, we got a ton of OG cws in 2016. There are some random years like 2018 and this year, as you pointed out, where they put out a bunch. I feel like last year we even had a decent amount (with 3 OG cw 85 releases in the NG lows, Navy lows, and Maroon highs) but a lot of them were also reimagined like the Bred 4s, etc.

Yeah, sizes seem to be drying up at retail price. I don’t see these going on sale or discount. I feel a lot of people are snatching these up as Christmas gifts.

Sucks because this is such a bad quality retro but the only way I was copping was on disco, I can’t justify retail even if I’ve always wanted this cw.

Hopefully, we’ll get a much better retro in the next 15 years.

Yea these dried up out here over the holiday/black friday. With such a cluttered year for drops these lost a lil steam from the jump.

At this point it’s going to be the minute sizes that get a discount if any. It’ll be some larger sizes but that will be few and far between. All that hype out the gate, waiting for discounts, waiting on Black Friday is long gone with pretty much nothing to show for it discount wise on a large scale.
