Jordan 8 question

I know this is a noob question but how in the world do people get the straps on Jordan 8s to stick straight up?
I'll post pics if u need examples.

probably let something sit on the straps while the shoe is laid on the side. That's what happens when I put my 8's in my gym bag sometimes. The shoes will be sittin on their sides and the straps get sat on by my clothes in the bag. When I take em and wear em the straps are pointing up. I personally don't like the look . The straps don't sit up forever though.

Yeah I have them and your can just lift them but why would you, looks weird like that
