I probably will too tbh! I can’t see myself ever getting tired of buying new shoes. Now certain love for certain models may come and go but the overall joy is irreplaceable lol

Im just playing around about that. I will be 65 in twenty years. I hope Im here lol. I will always wear the shoes, but buying these over and over again for another 20? Nike has gotten a lot of my money in 30 plus years. I will never grow out of Jordans though. Looking forward to these. Even though the PE is a favorite of mine.

It’s not even about whether my enthusiasm for sneakers is declining or ever will. But I’m long done buying crap versions of shoes, and these ongoing price hikes make that double easy to do.
In terms of retros, I’m still all in when they drop a good one. Bought two pairs of Chicago 13s this year because they were done well. Whereas I wouldn’t buy the upcoming TB IIIs for $130 let alone $230.

$255.00 + shipping and tax, will be around $25.00, give or take, which can be rounded off to about $300.00. With that said, Nike has been planning these price increases, for about 6 to 8 years now, because their game plan, is turn the retro line, into a luxury product. This is why the price increases, are going to continue to increase little by little, every year or two. Also, Nike has been wanting a slice of the resale market revenue as well.
So yall really think, that they’re not watching us spend $400.00 - $1,500.00, for some of their collabs, or high demand 11’s, that most people will strike out on. They’ve watched yall strike out on cheap Nike Yeezy’s, Travis’s, and Nigel’s, and then go justify paying under or over 1k for them on the secondary market. Most people spent $400 on 11’s, or in certain retros like the reimagined 5’s, once they strike out, because I seen it happen over and over on a repeated basis.
With that said, a lot of people aren’t exactly that pissed off, because the majority of us, are still going to pay $230.00 for retros 3’s and 4’s. There’s really not a difference between $230.00 to $255.00, and Nike knows this. They’re still majority of yall are just really surprised, because of how fast the price increases are coming at us, at this point. But this won’t stop the Space Jam 11’s from selling out this December, because people be lined up, to throw away $230 - $250 on 11’s, and sometimes on multiple pairs, without even blinking.
Nike even has research teams, that study customers (us) way of thinking, when buying their products. They know, because of the influence of the resale market, that for the people that pass on these, there will still be consumers, that will happily take their place in lines. Simply because, paying $255 - $280, is way better than paying $400 - $500 on Goat or Stockx, on the secondary market.

Well, my opinion is that Nike has fiduciary responsibility to their investors and that’s why they do this. Their stock value has been taking hits and overall is trending down. They need to show growth or else it’ll continue to go downhill. There isn’t much thought put toward innovation. Retros get regurgitated and priced high to sell folks on nostalgia. Sneakerheads aren’t going to band together and skip this release because they don’t know how. I’m sure most of us will pay retail because “it’s the closest they’ve ever gotten” 
as if they’re trying to sell us newest iPhone. After the Jams, they can finish Holiday 11s with Concords in the same fashion for 2027 and then move on to another model because it’s getting exhausting.

2028 breds would be a tough sell. They did the breds perfect damn near last retro. With the space jams and Concords it’s different because the last versions were 45 on the back. I can’t see myself buying another bred 11 in 2028, my 2019 still good

I’ve been saying 11 mids need to go in the vault for some time now, 2028 will be 20 years of holiday 11s. I say drop a proper concord and I guess a black/red by default to cap it off, then into the vault for at least 5 years.

2000 PL look so great here, look like glass. 2016 dont even have this quality of PL. 2000 mesh wasn't stiff either. it was lightweight, plush, moveable and breathable. I had the 2000 and wore em a tone in HS. those of you who never held or worn a pair, just dont know. you only know stiffness.

Heavy on the 5’s. I’ve damn near given up hope on the 85 1’s. I’ve also given up hope on an improved Air Jordan 12. The ones I have now are enough

Those are how I remember 11’s looking when I was a kid. Like you said they are very stiff and angular now. But from the side view, the shape is the “same2000 PL look so great here, look like glass. 2016 dont even have this quality of PL. 2000 mesh wasn't stiff either. it was lightweight, plush, moveable and breathable. I had the 2000 and wore em a tone in HS. those of you who never held or worn a pair, just dont know. you only know stiffness.

Top pair 09. Bottom pair 16. Both reglued. I will my my 2016 space jams didn’t get the slant toe like his mine were more stubby/boxy.

Funny you said that. I remember getting the 2001 Black/red 11’s when it released December of that year my 9th grade year and just remembered how comfortable and plush they felt on foot. It was almost like it they felt like heaven as soon as you put your foot inside the shoe. After those, I didn’t get a pair of 11’s until the gamma 11’s released in 2013. As soon as I took them out the box, I immediately saw the decline of quality. The ankle padding area was extremely stiff and patent leather was super thin and stiff. I knew right there it was a reason after the 01 black/red 11’s, I wasn’t keen to get any 11’s. I tried the gamma 11’s and didn’t get a pair of 11’s until the 2016 Black/concord PE’s came out. Drastic improvement compared to the 13 Gamma 11’s. The 2000-2001 Jordan XI run was perfect. They were all comfy, great quality, and pretty damn near close to their original counterparts (with slight variances). The minor changes they made, like no nike air insole stamp, shade change, black patent lining instead of white on Playoffs, lower overall height on all mids, slightly shorter patent height cut on all mids, didn't really bother me. My biggest issue was no blue soles on Columbias, but even still, those were done well. If the upcoming pair cuts ANY corners, I won't buy. In all reality, I'd much rather put money towards another 2000 pair and have them restored. The 2000 pair is really perfect and there are so many pairs circulating out there.
That pair is absolutely beautiful.
