Joshua Cribbs doesn't think he will be re-signed.

Players say that a lot, I mean if he doesn't get the contract he wants, he won't stay for less. Hometown discounts rarely exist, and shouldn't
I swore he was from DC. Didn't he and Vernon Davis play together at Dunbar?

exactly jones make that man a cowboy we need him for special teams let felix and crayton rest for the offense

sad if true. i by no means am a huge fan of the cleveland browns but when i did watch, it was to see what cribbs would do next. from everyone i talked to andthru my own observations, this guy is the team. id be at cavs games when they show him on the screen and hed get a louder pop than anyone on the teamincluding bron. esp after that steelers win, HUGE pop by the crowd. id like to see him stay for sure.

get it done CLE

Poor Cleveland. Gonna lose their best football player and their best basketball player in the same calendar year.

idk we just need him... felix aint doin it on kick offs anymore i guess his rookie yr was a fluke on the kick return thing..

It's just like Cleveland to not wanna pay up to a guy who deserves it. No wonder they stay losing...

felix is not... hes worth more on the running game than special teams

if the boys land cribbs hello points on the board no matter what the offense does

We can't imagine any NFL team that wouldn't want to add Josh Cribbs to their roster: he's electrifying as a return man, Wildcat QB, receiver, running back ... he could probably even drop some jaws climbing the stadium stairs working as the beer man. We also can't imagine the Cleveland Browns letting go of him, even though he's really upset right now. He's just too good on the field -- and too cheap -- to let go.

But with the San Francisco 49ers in dire straits in the return game -- Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat lists "return specialist" as one of the top two offseason needs -- and possessing two picks in the first round (No.'s 13 and 17 overall), might a trade be worked out?

Although this suggestion is wildly hypothetical -- and pretty unlikely -- a trade could become possible at some point if Cribbs and his agent back up their tough talk this offseason and force the Browns' hand. For now though, Maiocco tweets that "Holmgren has more urgent concerns."

Opposing teams are going to overvalue him...I can already see it.

#7 and Cribbs for #13 and #17...

Don't get it twisted people. Cribbs is still under contract with the Browns for the next 3 years.

If Cleveland wanted to, they can force him to sit out for the next 3 years and only get paid that $900,000 he's getting paid now. Basically freeze histalent up.

The Browns will make 1 of 3 things happen.

1. Force him to sit out 3 years. Nothing Cribbs can do about that but play if he chooses.

2. Trade Cribbs for something valuable. 2nd round draft pick, cash, players, etc.

3. Offer him a little more money than he requested and hope he stays. (which i think will most likely happen, dude isn't trying to leave the Browns).

the browns are not gonna freeze cribbs, the union would not let that happen.

What do you mean the union won't let that happen?

If he demands a trade and chooses to sit out until a trade happens, the Browns can easily say we're not going to trade you.

What happens then? He either plays for $900,000 a year or sit out for 3 years.

I highly doubt that would happen but the possibility is there.

Nonetheless, the Browns will pay this man the money he wants. Its just a matter of time..

I know that the Browns can "sit him" if they really wanted to, but that never actually happens, it just brings the whole team down. He will getresigned or the Browns will accept offers for him that may not be what he is exactly worth but something is better than nothing
