I can confirm that there was a brief issue today, but it was quickly identified and resolved by the team at Huddler/Wikia.  

Some updating occurred last week that created a few hiccups, but I've been assured that no further downtime is expected this week and there's no indication of any lingering problems.

Does Wikia use cheap servers?  Because that's what we're running on now.  

Last I checked, they're a top 50 Internet destination in the US. 

These aren't Yuku problems.  We weren't down for a week or even for an hour.  You aren't seeing different versions of the site based on which server you've connected to.  The site's performance doesn't lag when a moderator moves a thread.  

We've had over 99% uptime since the platform change - and that happened just about three years ago.  

If I'd told you in 2011 that the worst outage you'd experience on NT this year would last two hours, you'd have been overjoyed.  Now, ten people encounter a little blip of an error and that's cause for complaint?  Under the circumstances, I'd say that's a pretty strong indicator of our progress.

As a quick update:

We know there have been some isolated occurrences of this error today.  It's not limited to NikeTalk and the Wikia team is actively addressing this.  

So, if you have experienced this error today just know that we are aware of it and work is underway to resolve the problem.
