Back when i used to absolutely lose my mind, on Friday's or Saturday's i would go to The Down & Out in DTLA, and if you can't get in there bc it's too packed you have plently of options there. Then on Sunday there's a day bar called Do Overs on Sunset, not sure if still there

Which is why I understand LA is amazing place for a booming social life, but that seems to be about it.

Was out there and hit up Mama Shelter. Had a great time.
I also went to Clifton Republic but didn't stay in the main bar area there's a speakeasy located inside behind a mirror. It was a pretty fun and novel time.
