CLARK, N.J. (WABC) -- Authorities in Union County have issued an arrest warrant for internet celebrity "Kai the hatchet wielding hitchhiker" in the murder of Joseph Galfy, Jr. in Clark, New Jersey

The suspect is identified as Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, a 24-year-old Internet celebrity and is well known on Facebook and YouTube as "Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker."

McGillvary gamed fame online for his intervention in a Feb. 1 attack in Fresno, California. He was riding with a man who drove into a utility worker. The Fresno Bee reported that McGallivary pulled a hatchet from his backpack and struck the driver in the head after he confronted the Pacific Gas & Electric worker.

McGillvary is homeless but considers himself "homefree" and relies on the generosity of strangers for food, lodging and transportation.

He is also known as Kai Lawrence, Caleb Kai Lawrence and Kai Nicodemus.

The victim, Joseph Galfy, was found inside his home on Starlite Drive on May 13, 2013 after officers received a call to check on his well-being.

An autopsy performed the following day determined that Galfy died as a result of blunt force trauma, said Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

Based on the investigation, authorities know that McGillvary has cut his hair in an attempt to alter his appearance.

He was last seen at a light rail station in Haddonfield, N.J. area, said Romankow. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The Union County Homicide Task Force is working with local, state, and Federal officials to locate McGillvary. He is charged with murder in Union County and bail has been set at $3 million by Superior Court Judge Stuart Peim.

Anyone with information regarding McGillvary is urged to contact Union County Crime Stoppers.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered in the case.

What would I have done? I don't know, not stayed in a stranger's house and had drinks with him thinking he was just a really friendly guy.

Sounds like an ayo encounter in the making anyway.

Kai is having a very interesting year. So the guy drugged and raped him didn't even bother to drop him off somewhere, just kept him in the house? And he didn't even have the decency to wipe his kids from dudes mouth? So now Kai kills the rapist, most likely landing him in prison, setting himself up for a lifetime of more rape. Brilliant.
 
If true, damn, so much real life.

Son should of just castrated him and then went on his way..
