and ill say from an observational perspective. where you went and spent your time said more about you than anything. Decent attire comes with being 20 something and working in white collar fields. being at the "right" places was more than enough for young college grad "i work in a tall building in Philadelphia" city girls

Suits, ties and sport coats rub people the wrong way and I find it hilarious. People think that you're stuck up or that you think you're better than them without even saying a word or even knowing you. It's sad.
Suits and ties are indeed statement pieces nowadays, and that is because they are not necessary. I won't lie, I have a few, and that is because I wear them when I need to escort my wife to events. I think everyone likes nice stuff, but when you are rocking a suit like Samuels does, it becomes pretentious.

You wore suits to school in junior high but calling everyone else boujee for chelsea boots? You worse than us
I didn't even own a suit that young  Closet was all tall tees, fitteds and baggy jeans :pimp:
You older than me. This slim bootcut jim jones wallet chain dayz, and I had lost my v card that summer, so the change was inevitable. I definitely didn't wear a suit jacket though. Those suck.

How is it pretentious? It’s no different than people wearing a nice fit to look fly. Same principle, just different ideas on how they want to present themselves

You must mean it makes you more comfortable mentally, right?

How would that make you more comfortable physically? (If that is what you were saying).

I come in Peace.

You could say it's mental but I'm also physically comfortable in chinos and dress pants.

What makes it pretentious? Not defending KS or trying to argue, I just want to get general perspective.

I agree with this but also think the time and place principle is still relevant. You can throw on a designer fit to go to the grocery store (I don't even know what this would entail in 2021) but throwing on a suit in the same scenario would be OD. I'm thinking scenario might be the sticking point here.

That isn't pretentious at all. It's clothes at the end of the day and people are going to wear what they want to wear. We get it, you hate KS, but to say cause someone chooses to wears suits casually that means they are pretentious is crazy

I don’t think wearing it alone makes you pretentious, just in my experience, and probably others, dudes who wear suits for no apparent reason typically are pretentious tryhards. Not calling you one though, wasn’t a personal attack.

Well, it's about the flex, like a chick with a weave. All of a sudden you sexy because you got some hair, or you put on a suit? Are you sexy without that weave, or that suit on? Can you still be feelin' yourself without that hair, suit on? Are you wearing that hair, or is that hair or suit wearing you?

You can't be flexin' like that if it ain't real, therein lies the pretentious behavior.

I see your point but It’s no different than folks buying all that designer. Most people dress to impress.

i see nothing wrong with him wearing suits.
especially if it's his show. to me, it's just like any other talk show host. they usually wear suits.

maybe he just likes suits. there's nothing wrong with that either...just like there's nothing wrong with him wearing a hoodie and jeans.

You can buy and then wear all the designer you wish, but it should not make you become a butthole simply because you are wearing something expensive.

You know, like telling women that they are fat, then suggesting that you are a high value man and that is what allows one to make such a designation.

The power of clothes is crazy. The difference in the amount of random respect or thinly veiled envy I get on days I care vs days I don't care is insane.

"Oh I could never dress like you". Yes you can, for cheap too. "You're so stylish!". I'm really not, I'm just tall and skinny
If you saw me yesterday in my hoodie with a missing zipper and my beater Roshes would we even be talking about this right now?

Someone once told me that the way I dress is intimidating. It was the first time I'd ever met them and I was wearing an entire outfit from Asos  They just create a perception and make it reality.

From what I've gathered, the biggest issue is that the a lot of the top folks who make these decisions are older individuals who are used to coming into an office every day and they think that's the best and in some cases only way. I think trust is also another issue because some bosses like to have "eyes" on you.

BIG facts!

Especially in my field.

Basically...

This is with law enforcement especially.

Getting pulled over with a shirt and a tie goes a little different that a snap back and t-shirt in my personal experience.

The appearance of being "professional" or having access to lawyer money does make an impact on some of these cops...albeit only some and not much...but I'll take what I can get.

Profiling is real.

Bro! Same  This where what KHUFU KHUFU says comes into play - you wearing the clothes vs the clothes wearing you. I’ve gotten tons of love on pieces from places that aren’t high end. Most folks don’t realize that fit (especially) and how you pair things goes a LOONNNGG way. You get it doe :nthat

This too. it’s unfortunate but you are more likely to get the benefit of the doubt.

And before someone takes this to an #NTExtreme , I want to be clear - I am NOT saying you should wear a suit and tie to drive in the off chance you get pulled over. Just saying that if you happened to be wearing one, it would work in your favor.

Could "Intersectionality" be part of the reason for the rise of a Kevin Samuels?

Like it or not - things on the ground are changing.

Black women are the MOST oppressed.

Black women are a DOUBLE minority.

The BLS numbers and figures shown in this video challenge these notions & narratives...

That was a long video.

I think it’s a fair assessment of black males today. And fair assessment of black females today. And feminism in the white community is much different than in the black community.

But tying that to the topic, high value men are a minority of a minority of a minority.

What do ya think of the black woman being the most hated demographic? In light of that video.

I hit play on 2X speed and even though it was long I couldn't turn it off when I saw that he posted actual numbers.

Those are the kinds of videos I prefer...the ones that provide (valid and reliable) sources and metrics.

Based on those sources - I didn't see any figures, metrics, or measures that defined "Black women being he most hated demographic".

Do you have any sources / metrics to support the "most hated" claim?

Not even sure of the definition of "most hated".

Reminds me of the "most disrespected" / "most unprotected" hyperbole that is meant to elicit emotional responses - otherwise known as propaganda.
