I listened to "Parents Just Don't Understand", and one minute it's all good and the next Will getting pulled over in his parents whip with a minor

You know what most of the classic stuff is pretty kid friendly and that's not a bad way to start a kid out. Run DMC, Beasties, LL, Tribe, De La, Slick Rick, Pete Rock & CL, Heavy D, Rakim, Arrested Development, Juice Crew, Das EFX. There's lots of good stuff to pull from. Just go mostly late 80's and early 90's. That's what I did with my son when he was that age.

I honestly can't think of any hiphop song that would be fully kid-friendly for an 8 year old

Definitely checkout Lupe's albums, a bunch of kid friendly songs in them (clean versions of course),
