ehh, I mean when you have hyperactive kids you gotta do it. Either you spank them ( so they know better) or you use a leash. Trying to reason with a child is pointless.

Went to the flea market two weekends ago. First time at this one.
I had my daughter in one of the shopping carts, and a little girl is playing around in the path in front of us. Probably between 2 and 3 years old.
As we get closer her father sees us coming and yanks the little girl out of our way hard enough to bring her off her feet and crashing into his legs.
I was staring at the spot where she just was, shocked, when I heard him say "That's what you get for playing around!"

I've never wanted to beat the living $+%# out of a total stranger until that moment. I felt my face burning and realized I was staring him down so I figured I should leave

tl;dr If you use a leash as a substitute for good parenting, you shouldn't have them.

I'll never put my future kid(s) on a leash. That's why if you establish discipline early in the child's life, whether it's whoopings or time-outs, he or she will know not to act up in public.

i'm white, my daughter listens to me. no leash needed.

i crack up though when i see the leash in action.  and yeah, i've only seen it used by white people.

But I think a parent who allows their kid to run over them and act out needs to reevaluate what they are doing.That leash is dangerous also like what if it gets caught on something .

Every culture has a method to taming their kids wandering streak, the most effective/subtle/brilliant one i've encountered would have to be from middle eastern and indian people. they get their kids ankle jewelry and add bells and trinkets to it once they start walking.
