Was there no commerce before capitalism?
Was there no conscupious consumption before capitalism?
That's irrelevant because I don't know any conspicuous-consumer that wasn't influenced by current capitalism. They weren't influenced by something that happened centuries ago.

We're talking about them and what they're doing now.

Dude telling an economist that he's "uneducated" on the topic of economics is about as Dunning-Kruger as it gets.
He's an economist? :wow::lol: You guys are right, we need to completely overhaul the system, it has definitely failed us.

Hey, I've also corrected Nick Wright and his broadcast journalism degree when he has bad takes on the NBA. :wow:

But doesn't your argument basically just boil down to an ad hominem?

A person talking about how unhealthy smoking is while they smoke a cigarette doesn't somehow invalidate their argument.

Was there or was there not commerce and consumption before the invention of capitalism, 300 years ago?

That's a "yes" or "no" question.

 triggered? It's a shame, the state of our education system, allowing someone like you to teach children. :smh:

Yea, roads are socialism..

Try again, keep showing how uneducated you are. :wow:
Of course, my point went over your head.

Public roads are built and maintained through public funding. They are publicly owned, so you don't have to pay fees when you access/use them.

If you are such a believer in unfettered capitalism, then you should want roads would be all privately owned, privately funded, and your *** would have to pay fees/tolls all over the place. Especially highways. Hell, the highway system probably won't exist.

You benefit from a universal service that is made possible because of public ownership. Socialists want to take that same concept, employ it in more parts of our macroeconomy.

You are guilty of the same supposed hypocrisy, you are trying to hang on other people.

That is all it is.

I am not even an expert on the subject, not even close. But dude is just so blatantly wrong it is laughable, all he can do is attack people instead of arguments

But that makes them a hypocrite too, right? That's all I said originally and then the party wanted to ban me.

I never attacked one person specifically WITH THAT ARGUMENT, it's not ad hominem.

Although RustyShackleford RustyShackleford definitely used ad hominem attacks on me when he called me racist and whatever else. Did you call him out too?

Here comes the victim act

Right on time

I'll admit it, I threw my share of jabs, but I also made a coherent argument in regard to the topic. You haven't.

Governments have to tax and organize the country. No form of capitalism is going to have no government and just do business in a Wild West, anything goes environment.

I never said anything about my status or views on capitalism, I just commented on others. You ASSUMED everything about my views.

I never said anything close to what you're saying. You've been so triggered that you've projected your feelings on this conversation and put tons of words into my mouth, even called me a racist.

I think he called you racist because you referred to people who hate white supremacy "bigots." Duh.
No, I said the people here on NT with a certain set of views were bigots. I never said people in general who hate white supremacy were bigots, I hate it too.

Try to read and comprehend a little better.

All this because of your 1 stupid YouTube comment section post

I never said they were bigots for hating white supremacy. Look at what you're extrapolating from that sentence.

They're bigots for the other stuff they do.

You're getting what you want out of it, trying to play the go-nuclear argument by calling me a racist.

And after this whole thread not one person who hates capitalism can justify why they buy expensive consumer products that they don't really need. That was what I wanted addressed.

No yo trying backtrack from liking white supremacy, when he’s the one that brought it in the mix in the 1st place  :smh:
Go back and read what I wrote. I never said that.

Go ahead and try the old strategy of: "whoever doesn't agree with me is racist". It's used by a lot of people who lose debates.

What influences people TODAY, to get the new iphone?

Current capitalism culture?

Or

People trading fruit for barley in Ancient Sumeria?
People trading fruit for barley in Ancient Sumeria influenced current capitalism culture.

Please don't die on this hill. There's a 5yr kid somewhere who has no clue who Michael Jordan is, yet as an affinity for Jordan 14s. Please don't die on this hill.
