So an entire country was run under unfettered capitalism? Or just some operations? That's what I meant. Not isolated incidents, we're talking about entire countries because I said every country needs a government to run it no matter what their financial system is.

Or did you miss that too?
Dude, New Deal regulations dealt with damn near the entire macroeconomy, not some isolated incidents. Seems like your comeback is that government regulation existed in some form so you can handwave major examples of capitalist-driven exploitation. You are not slick either. I assumed you are talking about the second industrial revolution that happened after the Civil War, which helps you. Go back a little bit, and you run into slavery.

Like what is really your argument right now? You want to defend American capitalism, and take shots at its critics, by making sweeping judgments about them in the process. Then when I point out the issues with capitalism in its truest form, a complete market economy, or the issues with modern American capitalism, you backtrack and say of course you believe in government to act as a countervailing power and in socialist systems. You wanted an example of a period of time when unchecked capitalist power caused issues, and it is not good enough because......reasons. Somehow you being unclear is also my fault too.

You have no idea what the **** you are talking about and you are just moving the goal post to make it seem you are presenting something close to a coherent argument.

Yet somehow, the issue is that everyone else is being unfair to you.

Secondly, you completely disregarded the point I made about the issues with our current day capitalist systems because your think you have some "gotcha" with this point.

You just wanted to insult people, and when folk returned the energy, you couldn't handle it. That is all that is happening right now

 Yo, can I make fun of your spelling/grammar like you did to me? You definitely drug me through the mud for "Hippocrates".

I spotted this one and another in your posts. So I'm winning this little part of the war.
Me making fun of the fact you made sure to correct your error in another post is me dragging you "through the mud"

Really? Because I am pretty sure that is all I did.

But sure, everyone makes mistakes, this is NT, if it gives your comfort, go ahead and have your fun.

There is a whole thread you can post my errors in. Knock yourself out.

Can't handle it? 🤣 I been laughing this entire time.

You're the one who's emotional and typing entire dissertations. Then you call me fragile, stay in your lane, school teacher.

Idiot boy still talking trying to save his initial stupid post

Ironically, every post still sounds like a “smart dumb” YouTube comment

But, perks can only go so far. Chains will have to pay workers higher wages to compete with companies that have already established a starting wage of $15 per hour.

"There's no reason that the government has to mandate minimum wage," Motta said. "Because the market is making it grow on its own."

"I don't know if anyone could pay minimum wage and keep their doors open today," the Dunkin' franchisee added.

then maybe the world is dunkin too many fn donuts, shopkeep...that's the free market.

i listened to this last night & thought of you:

It's "old" and sounds current.

this belongs here...it's so interesting to see how "everything went to hell" in less than 2 years because of things people have been saying for decades. even kindergartners understand that if somebody takes too many, there might not be enough left.

...but some people are fine with that.

can we share a future with these people? should we?

I come in PURE ignorance.

Those that are anti-Capitalism (while living in a capitalist society), how do you know you REALLY don't want to live in a capitalist society?

I feel like sometimes it is easier to say, "I can do without" WHILE you are "doing with."

I am legit asking.

if I want less polluted air tomorrow, am I a hypocrite for breathing today?

socialism is just a greater deal of worker control over the means of production, the land, the gears, the water, the talent...it dictates that those who physically power civilization--the "essential heroes"--should never face financial uncertainty.

it is the idea that gains created through social stability should be distributed throughout that society.

to an extent, everyone who doesn't actively make society worse makes it better, and should be compensated for it.

this also extends to undervalued skills such as teaching a baby hominid to be a good human, i.e. the production of people.

under the current system workers receive a small share of the value they create, socialist principles are aimed at fixing that.

there are no exterior implications for one's personal life or the legal structure of such a society...it is an economic concept.

I think this might be my biggest issue with our current system. I especially hate this reality when it comes to the arts/entertainment. It is frustrating.

American capitalism does not values things without numerical value like time, effort, progress, dedication, health, etc. it’s only about profit. That’s the problem. Sick? So what? We need to make the days quota. Can’t pay rent? Oh well, we can replace you and replace the next guy after he finds out he can’t pay rent either.

as an employer, why would it be bad to have someone be able to buy a home? Buying a home means they’re in it for the long haul, or at the very least longer than someone who’s coming in and out. Same with someone who’s healthy

Of course this is a simplification of things but the problems are obvious

people that won't admit they're wrestling fans might not realize how the WWE is an outstanding reflection of the relationship between talent and capital...Vince McMahon has a monopoly over his industry, and so he can do **** like have his employees listed as "contractors" (no health insurance!), take a cut of their outside business ventures, and sell his Network content package to NBC for an actual billion dollars while not having to issue "Superstars" any likeness rights or royalties.

he's not a good actor, so there's a lot to what you see on TV with him...but you're not a wrestling fan, whatever.

to those people, I offer one LeBron James instead.

if you're here, you've heard of the guy, right? how many $150 jerseys and $8 dollar cups of popcorn in fun fashion colors has that man sold? how many intentional trips to Cleveland Goddamn Ohio has he facilitated, restaurant meals, stays at hotels?

as a city attraction, how close is having an active LeBron James in your city to having a world class museum in your city?

how valuable is that for the individual franchise, the Cavs, Heat, Cavs, and Lakers in that order? their opponents? the league?

all those questions in the air, why is there any kind of cap on his earnings from the NBA's basketball product? if the league pulls in 8 bil a year, and capitalism is a fair measure of value created, why is LeBron just becoming a billionaire in 2021?

be sure to watch class exploitation in action on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays! ["Roundball Rock" plays]
