Lakers guard Shannon Brown has been gaining some attention for his dunking skills.

There have been whispers in Los Angeles that he could be included in the dunk contest during All-Star weekend.

"If I'm able to get into the slam-dunk contest, I'm all for it," Brown said. "I keep saying I'm really not thinking about it. I'm trying to help this team win ballgames right now."

The Lakers have only had three players participate in the contest: Michael Cooper in 1984, Antonio Harvey in 1995 and Kobe Bryant in 1997.

"I promise you, if I'm able to get in the dunk contest, it's going to be something special," Brown said.

IMO no point it's the equiv of having Earl Smith & Rudy Gay in previous years....only great in game.

meh. He can catch some great air but we all know Richard Jefferson can do the same thing (and we all know what happened to that)

Tdot, you think Sonny Weems can do it? I've seen him do some fancy ones during the pre-season.

^^I think Sonny Weems and Demar Derozen would be good canidates, not so sure about Brown though.

I remember Tom Izzo saying Maurice Ager was a better dunker than Shannon Brown a few years back

Seen Shannon Brown At A Proviso East Tournament when i was in 8th grade, man he was serious then, think he had 45....

I'm sure you saw the McD's contest. To call him only great in game is just wrong
