**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

They both have all star potential . I guess we’ll see who ends up better. But I don’t buy the BI is younger arguments. 2 freakin years woopty doo. Players these days play high level basketball until 32-34. Kuz still has time to develop and add elements to his game imo

Man, this team is horrible in half court sets.
2k settings should be get to the basket all times.
BI taking over and looking like a 2pt specialist and up to 3stars trade value.
Luke starting beas.... when he works best feasting on second string D....
Rondo just a crazy iq player and ill admit I thought he was overrated with Boston but much appreciated hes a Laker and been playing great since he came back.

It's the potential for growth and innate skills that are already available. There's no comparison at this point. Kuz has one skill that he can be really good at or really bad at.

That's why I laugh at dudes in the NBA thread when they say Kuz a couple years older than Jaylen Brown or Tatum. Like ok, Kuz has gotten better from last year. He ain't 27.

BI balled out tonight but I hate the fact that his game is dependent on consistently hitting tough 2s with a hand in his face. He'll get hot every now and then but it's not a recipe for success.

Honestly man... I know we’re invested in the draft picks, but it doesn’t really matter who is packaged to NO.

If the lakers get Unibrow now, they’re going to trade any salary not tied up to Bron&Unibrow in the summer to offer the remaining cap space for a star.

Whoever doesn’t get traded now would probably get traded in the summer for draft picks to clear cap space for a 3rd star.

Carmelo Ingram.

Won't last forever. Gotta be able to get easy ones too.

I mean you have to consider the fact that someone who is 23-24 is basically physically mature by then. They are also more emotionally mature/confident. And they are playing against individuals who compare to them in physical/emotional maturity.

Someone who is 20-21 is not physically mature and doesn’t have the experience/emotional maturity that older people have. There’s more room for growth/projection due to that. Plus they’re at a disadvantage because they are playing against older, grown men.

When analyzing development you typically see the greatest growth up to age 23. From 23-28 your development is much more gradual. After 29 you start to decline. So generally speaking, Kuz’s growth will be much more gradual whereas Ingram and Zo could progress rapidly within the next 2 years and be ahead of Kuzma. Considering Zo is already at or near Kuz level of impact he will most certainly surpass him. Ingram on the other hand needs to make a big jump within the next 2 years.

Obviously each player/circumstance is different but this is why age is so important when evaluating

Y’all love to cherry pick one amazing BI game. As if Kuz hasn’t had his fair share of these type games plus big shots in close games (not blowouts like tonight)

His midrange was falling tonight, it mostly doesn’t
yea but kuz a one trick pony

ingram have it all

on occasion

Trade everyone for Paul George? Naw, not enough.

Trade everyone for Anthony Davis? Yep, I'll help them pack.

Much as I would love to sign #2 then trade for AD, I'm fine getting AD in hand (with Bron) and a 3rd showing up for less than Max. I'd be nervous, sure, but all this smoke......KD, Kawhi, Klay, Kyrie, Kemba.......(what's with all these K's? )

I don't even mind the loss, however I am happy about Ingram putting up 36. YES raise that stock price and continue to sit Kuz with a "left hip strain." Lakers might have got tipped off early about the AD trade request and trying to sink the price of Kuzma.

Just get AD. That's all you gotta do. If we get to keep one between Zo, Kuz or BI, we won.

Keeping one would be best case scenario. We all have our preferences as to who that ONE should be.

If we can keep two and throw in Hart and Zubac instead, that would be a miracle on the level of the Pau trade

This. Ideally we'd trade Zubac though because he's up for at extension this offseason. If our roster going into the summer was LeBron, AD, Hart and Zo, I'd be esctatic.

Two things

1) Ingram attacks the Rim way more than he settles for contested jumpshots
2) When he's working out the pick & roll and coming down hill he gets constant open midrange shots, when he doesn't hesitate.

Not to mention he's shown a much better capability of cutting this season

Still need to see BI improve on his flaws. Not overreacting cuz one game. We saw him have a lot games like last night last year. His FT shooting is still bad. Still depending too much on making tough fallaways. His 3pt shooting is like non existent. Still makes it harder on himself cuz he's shying away from contact. Still need to hit the weight room and get stronger.

Kuz > Ingram
This trade is gonna be big but I like the fact that we will have this in our favor.
NO has no leverage at all and that 50k fine made sure of that.

Dude. I’d cry tears of joy if our roster is this. Real tears

HOWEVER, if we wanna sign Klay or Kyrie too, we can ONLY have LeBron and AD on board ONLY. I think...

The kids will have to go anyway if we’re to add 2 stars with Bron.

Trade them all now.

5 young players and future picks is a “blown away” offer.

It has to happen.
