**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

With any scheme you have actions that you are trying to take away, but you also have to have some things that you're willing to give up.

The Lakers are dead last in the NBA in 3pt attempts before game, and Denver is 29th. .. so maybe you don't think that they'll shoot them as happily as they did tonight.

Joker was 14/20 inside the paint, and seems like he cooked whoever was guarding him and regardless of if AD was roaming or not.

It's a difficult puzzle to solve, and not like any other team in the league has figured it out either lol that's really why I'm not mad.

If you have to play a perfect game just to beat these guys then that ain't happening.

Lakers were up 12 at Denver. Ham gotta do what it takes to keep that lead. A run was always going to come.

Lebron looks gassed in the playoffs again as he should carrying a team at 39. AD’s 32 didnt mean anything when Joker scored 32.

Dinwiddie doing sprints. Killer DLo hasn’t done jack in the playoffs.

Denver didn’t play a good game. This was a great chance for a steal that didn’t happen

Bottom line, we just dont have enough offense. Only way we win next year is if BOTH Steph and KD comes over lol

Not too upset about this, the Nuggets are the defending champs for a reason. Lakers got their work cut out for them.

Really handled the game for about 42ish minutes but two separate 3 minute spurts did us in. :frown:

DLo has hit those shots all year. If he goes 4-10 we have a diff game. Alas.....

Bron first half vs Bron second half. :frown:

We played 6 guys, really. 5 starters + Prince.
Jax, Dim, and Vincent didn't give us ****. :smh:

In normal other series I'd say adjust and keep grinding. But after 4 game series last year + 3 regular season games this year + tonight......they all kinna lookin similar. Close close close close, Denver closes out strong. Need a 4th quarter spark to flip the script on them. A DLo barrage, or Bron quarter, or Rui spree, etc.

Steal game 2 and get HC. 🙏

I think you have to try and keep Lebron's minutes down so he has enough in the tank to close these games out.

But also when Lebron sits the offense takes a nose dive, so.... IDK.

Maybe it's just me but didn't really see that playoff intensity... at least consistently, and maybe not from DLo at all.

He got 20 shots, he was aggressive, this wasn't last year. He had two 3's go in & out. He's streaky like that, if he could a dropped a couple you might have seen that brashness but with him strugglin, wasn't gonna happen.

And NBA Playoff history shows role guys win at home, stars win on the road. KCP lighting us up in the second half, vs Bron's second half...... :nerd:

Lebron’s stats are crazy

But he’s a 39 year old human

Playoffs are physical and will wear you down by the 4th quarter, and especially as you go into deeper rounds

Tired legs in the 4th, AG’s energy on the glass….

Pretty sad that we have to rely so much on a 39 year old super-human. But this is the choice the organization made. As we get to the tail end of his Laker career, it’s all about Business over winning chips

Intensity isn't just the number of shot attempts to me... today just seemed like a regular season game from him and not one against the defending champs where you need to be locked in because every possession matters.

Can't be out there missing layups, taking early shot clock jumpers, foul baiting on shots, throwing lackadaisical passes and being all over the place defensively.

What's done is done, and everyone needs to be better game 2.

Yeah man F this coach. Can he get fired or get suspended for playoff negligence before game 2 or what?

Is he smarter than a fifth grader?

Or is he dumber than a rock?

One thing I know for sure: I am smarter and have a much better feel for the game than that 50-year old dumbxxx LOL

Who wants to argue? I’m in the mood

I hope this mf team gets swept so their dumb coach and half of this clueless fanbase who believes AD at the 5 is sustainable can get embarrassed ONCE AGAIN and let’s see how dumb and dumber too Jeanie and Rob respond!

Sick of these underachievers. Who wants to bet me that these Lakers are the dumbest Laker playoff team ever?!?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

For all the talk about our depth coming into the season we only have one player who scored off the bench at all. We have one of the weakest benches in the league and they're reliant on starters scoring 90% of points.

Even if/when Vando comes back he will only replace Prince. We have no guards off the bench that we trust to score.

I swear if Taurean Prince plays more minutes than Jaxson Hayes this series and the Lakers get they xxxxx beat, I will keep reminding everyone that Axtion Jackson was the Lakers’ best pickup last offseason

In fact HAYES SHOULD BE STARTING NEXT TO AD IN THIS SERIES INSTEAD OF RUI but certain folks lack what’s called balls to make that kind of late season adjustment

That’s why I believe you can make the case for bringing Rui off the bench during the regular season…he was the offense for the second unit. Now that he’s starting there’s nothing but defensive specialist type guys coming into the game

It's just the worst possible matchup. I wasn't in favor of taking the play in game to avoid the Nuggets but I also knew exactly what would happen when we played the Nuggets.

We just aren't built to beat this team, we don't have the guards and we don't have the bigs.

I think these three shots were the only bad ones he took. All the others were open and/or makeable.

Last one was so bad Bron held his hands up like wtf. It was out of a timeout too.

Ham is playing 4D chess. Saving his adjustments for next season

I get it people hate Ham but it is quite possible they do have some other looks to throw at him…not that it really matters, Joker has all the answers.

Lakers high powered offense got shut down in game 1… need to see the adjustments for that. Not gonna rewatch it but in real time feels like Den felt comfortable leaving certain guys open from 3 and the Lakers didn’t make them pay. 1st qtr they did shoot the ball well and that’s why they held the lead.

Opponents shooting against each player.

Rui shouldn’t be on Jokic.
AD needs to take the challenge. He can’t do worse than Rui did.

Punt whatever LeBron is doing on defense into the sun.
