Amar'e Stoudemire will be seen by a hand specialist to determine if he damaged a ligament or tendon when he punched a glass fire extinguisher enclosure on Monday.

Stoudemire needed stitches and there was a good deal of blood on the scene.

The Knicks are not expected to have Stoudemire available for Game 3 against the Heat in New York.

Let's just say things don't change for the next two games and they get swept without being competitive.

Is it still guaranteed Woodson comes back?

Not guaranteed at all.

Any coach will have difficulties because they would need to get Amare and Melo to work better together. Either Amare to the bench.. or a better gameplan to get spacing and utilize Amare (a good PG is crucial as well).

I like Woodson, but I haven't seen enough to make me say without question he deserves a long-term contract.

Let's say there's a team interested in Amare in the offseason and we're looking to trade him. I know you can swap a bad contract for a bad contract (within like 10% of each other or something)...

But do we have the option of "picking up" part of Amare's contract in a deal to make it more feasible for another team? He's due $60 mil over 3 years, could we pick up say, $15 mil of that so a new team would foot a bill of $45 mil?
He's here to stay just deal with it.
Team has no guard besides Melo who can breka down the defense to open things up for everyone. Even Lin, who is still an average PG imo, was able to do so at times and opened a lot of things up for Tyson, Fields, etc.

Two free agents this off-season: Nash, Felton.

Obviously Felton is not on the same level but would not be the worst idea to bring him back to just control the team, run the pick and roll (strong suit for Tyson and Amare), etc. Or....you do whatever the #%%$ you can to bring Nash here.

Dude is an idiot. But no that scenario wouldnt work where we trade and they amnesty. You had to have the player on your roster at the start of this season for them to be amnesty-able I believe. If we are going to trade Amare its gonna take some slick talking from the FO. But If we could just swap bad contracts for a guy who rebounds id be fine with that.

even if we had the amnesty i dont think the knicks would use it on Amare. management doesnt make decisions like fans do. thats alot of money.

^ He could be moved. Is it a long shot? Absolutely, but find another team with cap space who doesn't have any scoring big men, and if we're lucky enough to find a deal that works....

It's highly unlikely of course but stranger things have happened. I realize I'm in the minority about feeling that a team might bite but I'm sticking to my guns.

As for the PG spot, if we did sign Nash, Lin becomes the first guard off the bench? Don't expect JR to come back, Shump will start when he's healthy (unfortunately that's not for a while).

Any team would LAUGH at Amare's current contract and his health, they would laugh at the Knicks.
I'd rather have Novak then JR anyway guy is too erratic and we don't need him.
If the Knicks are able to somehow sign Nash of couse Lin would DEF come off the bench.
