A few vines from last night

A really good adjustment to guys sitting heavily to him driving left. Enough guys guarding him have started to do everything to prevent this. The problem is if you are going to body up to the left, to prevent him from using his dominant hand, you leave going right completely open. Glad he can see that and took advantage of it. His first step is so quick that if you cheat, he's easily passing 4s & 5s.

Decent pick by Bass to give Russell a step. Great recognition by Russell to see the open space on the floor, and turn the corner toward the basket. Got Okafor flat footed. Could have pulled up for his shot at the elbow.  At the same time Stauskas needlessly was ball watching, then steps toward Russell to give help, which was even less necessary, great read by Clarkson noticing Nik lost him and taking the cut to the hoop. Russell held it a split second longer forcing Okafor to have to move with him, made the great read for open lane and easy assist for Russell to JC.

Showtime Lakers. An absolute perfect read by Russell. Knowing where the trailer was behind him, and being able to touch pass without looking to him is damn good. He also really had no other choice. At the beginning of the vine, you can see two defenders about 2 strides behind Randle, had he caught it and came down with it, he would have to dribble out. By the time he could get into a passing position, the 3 on 1 would have been squandered. Was a big play momentum wise in the game.
