That would also hold some weight in a court of law if and when you are able to file a suit against Baruch.

Good Luck Sir.

I would advise you to wait to look for a new school. If you start looking now... a DA would (should) question why you were looking for a new school already ifyou KNEW you were going to be found "not guilty." Think about this. If you were accused of stealing at work and you KNEW you didn't stealanything... but you quit before the investigation started, wouldn't that make you SEEM as if you did something wrong, even if you didnt? Same concept.

Be patient... the system USUALLY works.

Save the money that you were gonna pay for school, get a higher profile lawyer and threaten a civil suit against the school AND the person accusing you of thiscrime.

Give them hell.

You probably won't win against the school, but hey, I'm sure they don't want a suit on their hands and the publicity that comes with it.

Definitely file a civil suit against the dude though once you're found not guilty.

I wouldn't recommend looking for another school to transfer to, if you really are innocent. I'd take this as far as possible and file suits for anydamages.

so you told him you took the pills and cash as a joke, ran, and he believed you and pressed charges? aren't the pills and cash still in his bag?

Happened to my boy, got in trouble in a different state, school still suspended him and he wasn't even allowed back on campus. Maybe they would haveactually let him back on campus after all the trials but the judicial process takes time and you can't really afford to take that time away from school(student loans will expect payment if you're no longer enrolled). What he did was during the trials and stuff he took CC classes kept his grades up and putin for a transferal any ways once he beat his case. So I'd advise you to request a copy of your transcript before your school places a surprise hold onyour account and you're stuck in limbo.

you better plan on walkin out that court diddy boppin if you're truly innocent.

so you knew this guy before? I dont understand how it can escalate to police right away. somethings not adding up. why mess around with anyone when you are soclose to graduate with a good GPA

i'm assuming the dude took them out and hid them somewhere before he accused OP.

OP, why is it that everyone thinks you're lying? you must be an a-hole in real life, that's why everyone thinks/expects that you did it.

damn fam best of luck. . but if it doesnt work out say hi to this guy for me

somethings not adding up/ is the accuser your friend? if not, why are you messing around with him like that. and if he is your friend, why is he taking you upto the authorities?

and why are you posting your story on here, your lawyer would not approve of this

No lawyer should say that you will beat a case. That makes them sound like scams trying to get your money. When I had an incident in my past,I had a simple case and they all told me that there's no guarantees and a lawyer can't promise an outcome because they're not entirely predictable.I'd hesitate about hiring anybody who tries to use that as a means of selling their services to you.

If the school punishes you further, get the reason in writing. If they say anything in their reasoning that's about you committing any crime orsomething without using a term like "alleged" before it, you'd probably have a shot at suing.

As for the actual robbery, how are they proving this? Did they find it on you? You said there's video--does it show your alleged crime being committed? Ifyes, tough luck for you. If not, are they just taking some dope fiend's word? I'm willing to bet that you could poke holes in credibility prettyeasily.
Robbery in the 2nd degree (a violent felony) and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree

Violent felony? What was violent in your situation? If you took stuff out of his bag without him knowing, how were you violent to him? You didn't post toomany details, but if your post is remotely close to reality, I'd look up the legal definitions of those crimes--if you didn't meet all of the criteriain those crimes' definitions, you could probably get off just on the fact that they pressed the wrong charges.

OP is definately not telling the 100% truth. No way could you be charged with a felony for robbery without causing bodily harm on the victim. And really grandlarceny for $100 and some pills? And if he was a dope head, wouldn't those pills on him be illegal without a prescription?
