Moments That Made You Realize You’re Washed

I feel like TikTok has really made stealing content so normalized since you're basically making your video to the audio.

But I've already lost count of how many gym dudes are doing DB bench presses and a chick "accidentally" sits on their faces:lol:

I'd say Instagram made it normal/acceptable. Meme pages etc.

Justinlaboy made a name out of stealing content from Twitter.

TikTok is basically The Shiggy challenge with all the social media infinity stones.

I’ve noticed it’s harder for me to take naps now. A nap to me used to be 2-3 hours easy, now I’m lucky if I ever fall asleep for 1 hour

Not me, I can take a nap at work in a meeting. Loving Zoom, we don't have cameras onsite. I be OUT.

Nothing is spontaneous anymore on TV, clearly had dancers on standby for when she said do you want to learn.

One thing I always do now is turn the brightness down on any screen I'm looking at. I always had 20/15 vision but a couple years ago I was starting to become near sighted and I had to squint to see things in the distance. Realized it was because I was staring at my bright *** phone all the time. Cut way down on my screen time for a minute and kept the brightness down at all times. Eyes made a full recovery

Nice still sitting at 20/10 vision, instead of turning down the brightness, I just take naps at work. LOL.

i read somewhere one of the main causes of myopia/near-sightedness is the eyes focusing too close too often, especially for people who spend the majority of their time indoors & thus not using the ‘eye muscles’ that focus on things far away, such that the ability to see things in the distance drastically decreases…so it probably has less to do with your screen brightness than that you were decreasing the the time you spent looking at your phone

It was most definitely the brightness too . My eyes were becoming sensitive to light and my actual retinas would feel fatigued and sore. Same feeling as staring at the sun. I still spend too much time looking at screens but my eyes are fine with the brightness dimmed

Eye doctor just pointing out that most of the last few posts isn’t true.

I’ve never met someone with 20/10 vision - most healthy adults will manage 20/15. 20/12 is exceptional but my chart doesn’t even have 20/10 on it. If someone got that the first thing I would check is the calibration and distance from the chart - it’s probably a little short.

Using devices doesn’t change your eyes - but looking at small close things (same if you read small books all day) will give you some strain - and as you get nearer 45 your focussing power reduces so you’re using more of the reserves to focus. Think of it like trying to bench a heavy bar - the bar isn’t changing but as you age you’re getting weaker so it gets harder and you’ll get tired sooner.

That can lead to temporarily worse distance vision - your eyes sort of get stuck focussed up close - but it doesn’t make you near-sighted - technically we would call that pseudomyopia and a break lets your eyes recover.

There is low level evidence of blue light from screens causing issues - but none of it really makes sense. You’ll get much more exposure to “high energy” light being outside for a few minutes than all day looking at a screen.

It can keep you awake though so a color shifting app is a good idea to not cause issues with your sleep patterns.

My issue the past year or so is the small print thing - I now know what I’ve been talking about for 20 years and it’s getting annoying. Nothing you can do though, it happens to everyone.

So pseudomyopia has the same symptoms as nearsightedness? And if I didn't take a break it would've become more or less permanent/more difficult to correct?

Ive been spraining some interesting muscle groups at the gym.

I pulled my latissimus dorsi curling . :smh:

Another variation of that stretch, that can help you progress, is the same concept except you use a wall. So imagine the foam matt is just rotated so it looks like she’s sitting up against a wall. Closer your butt gets to the wall, the more difficult the stretch is. So starting further away allows you to do the stretch correctly and you’ll be able to inch closer as you gain flexibility.

The important thing is to never work through pain. Any workout/stretch can be scaled back to fit your current level, and you simply adjust as you get better.

what do you by this? what's getting annoying??

That's actually the two big things I'm downplaying and ignoring as not a big problem yet; my hearing and vision has had to go do an at least 15% compared to my prime.

My good hearing comes and goes now. More times than not I can't make out a full sentence/question from someone across the room. Gotta yell and annunciate for me.

Blurry vision come and goes. Its so crazy when it acts up cuz ill not be able to make out a sign or something on TV for 40-50 seconds. I can no longer read small print from 4ft say or more for periods at a time.

Main reason I ain't go to the doctors with either is cuz they don't last long and are not frequent just noticeable enough the amount of times it has happened.
