This is a result of the War on Drugs/Poverty working the way it was suppose to work.

This is worse than Slavery in my opinion.

eh, i dunno about "way worse", but this is practically the same thing, free of blame to any one group of people.....moreso looks like black people's fault than the system against them.

'This is a result of the War on Drugs/Poverty working the way it was suppose to work."

yeah, hence, "systematic oppression DOES work"

aint it unconstitutional for the government to even regulate drugs?

not go to jail. raise our children to not go to jail. maybe legalize weed and get people in jail for weed-related charges released...

be more educated about the laws as a people...

fight against injustices supported by the system

i dunno

It is, but they use the "Commerce Clause" to regulate it. Congress thinks that the "Commerce Clause" is an excuse to be able to regulate every facet of your life and due to Supreme Court precedence, they really can.

what can we do about it though?

Legalize drugs and get rid of the Minimum Wage laws. Minimum Wage laws have destroyed Black work participation, especially in low income neighborhoods.

You do those 2 thing and you do:

Increase Black participation rate by eliminating a blockade that prevents low skilled jobs to be given to Black youths
You rid low income/high drug rate areas an alternative to not having a job (selling drugs)

Think about it. Blacks youth have the highest unemployment rate and have been for almost 80 years as a result of legislation. They start working later on than Whites, which puts them behind the 8 ball because they aren't experienced. So now they have to overcome so much more in the work enviroment, on top of a lack of self confidence because the lack of experience and being able to deal with certain situations.

The worse thing about the war on drugs is people are making money off this. Private Prisons FTL.

I was talking to some friends and colleagues about this very topic the other day.  As blacks, we make up about 12 or 13% of the US population, but yet instill we make up about 48% of the US jail population.  Very disheartening.
