I mean if you use a broad umbrella like "Party Destinations" cool, but one has a beach and one doesn't so that already puts them in completely different categories TO ME.

To be fair, Miami has a lot more culture than Vegas. Vegas has absolutely nothing other than drinking and gambling and some random desert activities. That’s why people get bored there after a couple days when the drinking and clubbing gets old. In Miami, you can not party and still have a good time experiencing so many different Latino and Caribbean cultures throughout all the different neighborhoods.
Miami is not just South Beach (a place most native Miami residents don’t even go to). If you want to be packed in an overpriced tourist trap with thousands of annoying drunk people, that’s on you, but you’re missing out on a lot by not exploring the rest of the city. Just wish it wasn’t in Florida

I know ppl like this too who try to look down upon local travel…But when I ask some of em what they did out the country they tell me things they coulda done staying in the USA but a shorter flight and easier to get to, cats ain’t eem get off the resort or just ended up in ex pat clubs

Boston isn't highly rated. It's small city made up of neighborhoods you go to to raise a family, study medicine/IT/sciences or want good schools and health care. There's nothing here in the way of tourism for the most part. I've never heard this city associated with traveling if it wasn't business related or if you're a history buff. There is a lot of culture, women (if you like a good mix of Brazilian, Nigerian/Liberian/Cape Verdean/Haitian, DR, PR, European flavors) and some stuff to see but by no means is it a destination. It's cold AF 8 months out the year.

Absolutely can't stand it when people fly all across the world just to kick it with the same crowd from back home. My relatives in Southeast Asia live in cities littered with English and Australian bars; you rarely see those dudes go anywhere outside of them. Why did they even make the effort?
I think my main thing is related to $ though. I like traveling locally but the cost has to make sense to me (just came back from Phoenix; normally I'd hate 100 degree weather, but feeling warmth for the first time since this never ending Midwest cold was
) . Not when the money I spend could be used to fly overseas and experience something completely different.For example, the amount of money some people I know spend on Vegas/South Beach trips baffles me. Flights there are cheap, but I see people spending $300+ a night on hotels, hundreds-thousands on club tickets/bottle service/cabanas/overpriced food, etc. I don't think it's flexing when I can spend 50-100% as much and go to another country, do all that they're doing, AND experience new cultures and see new sights.
They always tell me traveling overseas is more expensive, but whenever I explained the breakdown of how much I spent vs how much they did, all they say is "idk we'll see" and then a few months later they're at EDC Las Vegas again for the 5th year in a row *shrugs*
I don't look down on them though; I'm sure that many people probably use the same type of logic on other things that I buy. They're good people and I honestly wish I could just convince them to go with me one day to see what I mean

The summer time here is perfect. I’ve met countless people who said they visited the area in summer, decided they wanted to live here, moved in fall, kinda regretted it
Seattle is becoming one of those cities people hate on (at least regionally) but never actually visit. 2020 did damage on it for sure but it’s gonna recover.
Yeah, I've never seen Seattle as a terrible place weather wise. I've been out there a lot of times, and while I'd prefer more sunshine, the weather was never extreme in any way. The summer there might be the most comfortable summer weather throughout the country. I think only people from Cali would call Seattle weather terrible. It USED to be worse than Cali weather, but now with Cali having huge fire seasons annually, can we even say that anymore? (I know WA state had fires last year but nowhere near as severe)
Trust me, living in Chicago for the past year has me craving to live in a place with Seattle weather. The first day it was 40 degrees here after 2 months straight of below freezing and snow, I was ready to celebrate. From my experience it doesn't usually get colder than 40 out there, right? Every time I've been out there during the winter, I've just needed a light-medium weight down jacket/coat and I've been fine.

yea Boston sucks, nobody rates Boston as a sought after go to destination for anything fun. But it is a great place to be a student with the concentration of highly rated universities, colleges and grad schools.
You better PREACH! It is so sad to see and though I was born and raised in DC and still live in the area (though almost 30 miles away), I do not recognize the city anymore when I have to go there (outside of most of downtown, Georgetown and most of Wisconsin Avenue going to Chevy Chase). I have said SOOOO many times that the soul has been sucked out of the city, but it usually falls on death ears because most people I know here nowadays are transplants.DC. Gentrifiers have sucked the soul out of the city and replaced it with cookie cutter apartments and 1000 beer gardens, dog parks, and under seasoned “fusion” food.

South Florida is like Brazil. Either you’re really rich or realllyyyyyy poor! No in between. My homie just moved to Charlotte. He got a 2x2 for $900. You not finding ANYTHING in south Florida for $900 unless you’re low income, housing, HUD or whatever. I’ve seen efficiencies and studios here for 1100+. Housing is hella overpriced out here

I'm like this too. Love the rain when the temp is mild and humidity index is low. Peaceful AF. People think I'm weird for it.
