Nas Reveals Name Of Next Album (2011/2012 Release)

This album more than likely will be remembered by his critics and fickle fans as "Nas made a safe album"

1. Illmatic
2. It Was Written
3. Life Is Good
4. The Lost Tapes
5. God's Son
6. Stillmatic

"Summer On Smash" should not have been on the album if it wasn't going to be a single. It doesn't serve a purpose on the album, but than again it does.

.............

Wait, is this dude saying illmatic is a safe album?

lol nah I said that when people revisit this album down the line, rather than give it credit as a good album, they will critique it as a safe album (he was in his comfort zone). I ranked his best albums in order, LIG would be his 2nd best effort if "Summer On Smash" wasn't on it.

...........

I think this album will be revisited as a classic in 2-3 years. Maybe it's just the rap releases this year, besides Killer Mike's joint, nothing is really as solid....LIG is personal and Nas does better making personal music.

I agree with this list. I was just thinking that about Summer On Smash as I was listening to the album on my way to work. I skipped it with no hesitation.

For those drinking the 'Cherry Wine'....

if you haven't already, d/l listen to 'Like Smoke' which is Amy Winehouse featuring Nas

makes me wish there was even more, these two had a chemistry

Just gave the album a listen front to back. Probably my favorite album of the year.

Accident Murderer :pimp:

The Black Bond

Roses

Wheres the Love

Trust

all should have been on the main album, replacing

Summer on Smash

You wouldn't Understand

Back When

The Don

*The two tracks in bold are not bad tracks; it's just that the bonus tracks are sooo much better

Summer on Smash is pathetic

And i cringe hearing Nas on The Don...just not good for him at all

Still a really good cd, but 5 bonus tracks are all better than more than half the main tracks...

I dont know how the hell they only made Wheres The Love and Roses bonus tracks... especially Wheres The Love... that might be my favorite track out of the whole process

With F&L2 and MAAD City droppin recently, i havent listened to this at all, but ima get back to the tracks i like

how can you not like back when its such a smooth song, i placed cherry wine right after it in track order

Today is the 19th anniversary of Illmatic, much respect to Nas.

The original cover was intended to have a picture of Nas holding Jesus Christ in a headlock,[sup][3][/sup] reflecting the religious imagery of Nas' rap on "Live at the Barbeque";

1. Memory Lane

2. One Love

3. The World Is Yours

4. It Ain't Hard To Tell

5. N.Y. State Of Mind

6. Represent

7. Life's A B****

8. Halftime

9. One Time 4 Your Mind

Best songs in order in my opinion

One of those albums I can't just play one song from... I need to play it from Genesis all the way through It Ain't Hard to Tell. Still my favorite album of all time :pimp:
