iv got a subscription to net flix. does it cost extra to watch films/shows on the net flix xbox live service?

Depends on what plan you have with netflix? I have the 2 movies at a time w/ unlimited streaming. Check on Netflix.com to see if you have the unlimitedstreaming part. I'm in the preview program for the new update coming out in August. You can now add/remove movies on the xbox dashboard now. I think theupdate comes out Aug. 11th. Don't quote me on that.

naw dont cost anything extra from netflix but you do need an xbox live gold membership.

ya you need a gold membership.

and ya you need a computer.
... until the update on august 11 (i think) , you'll be able to pick what movies to watch straight from the xbox, instead of having to go on the computerand set up a queue.
