Marbury: "I Want to Play for the Brooklyn Nets"

It's always hard to figure why Stephon Marbury says anything. But on Tuesday, the unemployed point guard used Twitter to let fans know where he wants toplay: "Rod Thorn is my man. I want to play for the BROOKLYN NETS. I said it." Okay, he said it. Problem is that even if everything goes well, theNets won't be in his hometown til February 2012…the same month the former Net turns 35.

How old is Keyon? I actually like the Keyon backing up deving because Lee and Terrance can both distribute the ball from their positions.

I'd love to get a player like Lowry though from Houston. He is one of those players who just wants to win.

Got my tickets yesterday. Glorious day as every one is when those full season tickets come.


The opposing player on the ticket is not that bad as it was made out to be but why on some does it look like C. Lee is slapping the opposing players butt?

Cant wait. Going to the rock next week for the pre-season games.

Keyons 29... I like him as the backup PG. He's been the best backup this team has had in awhile.
I think it's great we have Skip to. I think he's another very good quality backup.

Harris, CDR, TWILL, YI, and Lopez started with CDR scoring 20. No Lee due to the sprain and Harris left in the third due to his ankle sprain but will playsunday vs boston.

Nets play the celtics again tonight at the Prudential center in Newark.


Even though this is a pre-season game, this and the one next week vs the Knicks is big for the Nets brass since they want to see if the people will turn out inNewark for a meaningless game.

All just in case Brooklyn falls apart. Will see........



The Lineup tonight for the Nets will be:

CDR

Lopez

This is the first game that harris and lee are in the backcourt together starting. This game is the first real dress rehearsal from what LFrank has said to thewriters. The rotation will be in full effect tonight with some very head shaking lineups.


Also, CDR may have won the SF spot to open the season. That is the rumor from the beat writers that Hayes and Dooling are better suited together as the SixthMen for the team like last year.


Very happy to see CDR at that spot. Our bench would be veteran oriented.

Haven't been on lately. I'm looking forward to the season.

In the off-season thread, I said we'd be one of the bottom five teams this season, and I think I was probably overreacting.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it actually did happened, though.

I like CDR starting with Jarvis off the bench. He provieds the vet attitude & experience along with instant scoring off the bench.

I personally like Najera coming in as the backup PF instead of Boone. I said it early last year, we need osmeone to get the dirty work done & Najera can dothat.

Seeing all these guys on the court for the 1st time was vey impressive, I liked what I saw. Devin, CDR, Lee, Brook, TWill, (hopefully)Yi, can have a verybright future together once they start to get chemistry on the court. You could see they struggled a bit with that chemistry in the closing moments, but itwill come in due time. Seeing these grow into their roles will be fun to see all year.

The Arena is beautiful compared to the Izod Center.


I turned down every Ranger Devil game I was ever invited to so my cherry was popped tonight with the arena.


I was in the $10 seats center court and fell in love with everything the arena had to offer.

I would probably sit the 100 sections center court if I got a season package there. (Please let Brooklyn Die)

The signs fans had were great about brooklyn and the nets

12,790 was the tickets sold tonight. the arena was pretty full for a pre-season game.


Besides parking 3 blocks from the arena on a side street that I thought I was going to get jumped when I left my car, the walk is not that bad through downtownNewark.

Cant wait to go vs the Knicks next week.

The game turned when Larry put Williams, hayes, alston, battie, and najera out in the fourth quarter as Doc left Rondo and perkins out there.

that one ref got a ear full also tonight. lol. Larry teaching him how to make calls during the free throws. lol.

if you get Kidd, Make sure it is mavericks stuff.

he would not sign any nets stuff when he came to jersey for the first time last year.


He has a contract with a sports vendor that only allows him to sign items of the team he is currently on or special event items (all star games, USAbasketball)

He was typical Jason though which is not a great individual off the court.

He will sign Autographs but make sure it is Mavericks gear.

I am Happy the Nets gave me a signed replica Jersey three years back and did not have to ask him.


My friends were at the Dallas game and he just walked by all the fans with Nets stuff. he signed Mavs gear, Shoes, cards (he was wearing a net jersey in somefrom what they said.) and that was it.


Our rep said some guy had a photo blown up from when they won the eastern conference title in boston while in the locker room celebrating and the rep said itwould be cool to get it signed.

JKidd came to him and he just kept walking.

The reps and managment (Not named Thorn) Hate him as a person. Respect him for what he did for the franchise.


He might of helped the franchise but he has to remember the franchise helped him revive his career.

I think beating your wife (no matter how annoying she may be) for giving your son a french frie just screams scumbag to me and still does.


I guess I still have negative feelings about Kidd wanting the trade after three years.

I respect his game and what he did for the Nets but I think he is one of the biggest pieces of #$%#@ you will ever meet outside of this league when it comes tofan interaction.

Well damn. I knew Jason had some problems but I didn't know they were that bad. I was upset to about asking for the trade, I feel if he reallywanted to win, he would've tried to attract players to come. Its not like the Nets didn't try and bring in help. I'm glad all the ex Nets are oncontenders now. I think we gave RJ the shortest end of the stick though sending him to Mil.

He does come off as arrogant though. I miss VC though.

Vince really wanted to win. Played what, like half the season while needing ankle surgery, on a team that had already been eliminated from the playoffs.
