"Nike air Flight Huarache" Still hoping, praying, and waiting for these to return. This year or n

While cleaning the bulk of my collection up, for a tentative pending sale, I decided to take some pics of some familiar shoes for the thread viewers to enjoy (these are not included in the sale).

My 2 pairs of the first Huarache retro from 2002. The Fab Five color were never worn. But they are solid & no separation. I always loved the silver blue bootie on the other pair. These were so well done back then.

Huarache Free BBall. Never wore them as Frees kill my feet. Well, they did back when, but now I'm sure I'd be used to them as all I wear currently are driving shoes. But these were actually pretty well done, all things considered.

Huarache BBall 2008. Only wore them a few times. Always loved the colorway.

And while technically NOT a Huarache, it sure was a pretty darn close homage for the OG back in 1998. This was THE NCAA shoe for the tournament that March. Can anyone guess the name of it (let's see who is old like me, lol).

And since the midsole is all foam, no PU, it's wearable. I always LOVED this shoe!!!

That last pair is the Air Stimulus Flight. They need to go ahead and release those, too.

What is the sizing like for the Flight Huarache? These will be my first pair. I'm assuming it's like the Jordan 7, given the similarities of the build and era they were both released.

Those Stimulus Flights are beautiful. What was the tech in those? Air? Zoom? Some combination? Would love more info on them.

Congrats on all who got the Stimulus Flight correct! Bravo!! 👏👏

T the_mighty_o . It had forefoot air and zoom in the heal. It was also an Alpha Project shoe (5 dots were on the back). Here's a good tid bit on the shoe!

This is a Kicks On Fire link above for a Throwback Thursday story on the shoe. Guess the actual link can't be seen because it's a different shoe site link? 🤷

If the majority of my collection deal does go through Thursday, (I know it will) then I gotta work on moving old OG models that are old. Some wearable but old. Stuff like Jumpman Pros, sole OG 12s that need the outsole glued, some other stuff. I'll probably throw those last ones on the bay for a small amount or best offer. But I'm keeping a select few (Huarache Trainer 94s, Reebok Battlegrounds OG Bringback retro from 2004 (Shoe Sinbad wore in the commerical), Carnivores, ect) and the Stimulus Flights are one of those. I love those and I know we'll NEVER see a retro.

If the real things come looking like the 2015s, the “curse” of me keeping my wallet in my pocket will also continue, regardless of colorway.

It was already looking bleak for me with that purple being all weird in the leaked pics lol.

Pass on “Nike Gear” pair.

Bout a month back I saw a vintage Nike Windbreaker that would’ve been dope with those, on Urbanoutfitters

Here is my little collection of big sizes 1992 White version (13/13.5/15/16) would have prefered 4 size 14/15 but not easy to come by .
And the 2002 Sagan size 15 . I m more interested in the black one from this year , will see if good or not in hands .

As much as I have loved this shoe since the OG dropped when I was in 10th grade—and I had the OG Fab Fives for my HS summer leagues back then—if the shape etc on this retro is jacked up again, it’s an easy pass. Had two pairs each of the F5 and Kobe retros from 2015. Sold them all after barely wearing because it just wasn’t the same shoe. The 2003 retros were money, though.

Still got my 2003s and they were fantastic!

Some People don’t realize how comfortable those shoes are. Like, they’re legit one of the most comfortable basketball shoes nike has ever released
You think the new retro will be suitable for hooping in still?
As much as I would love to I can't help but not use a newer shoe to ball in with newer tech.

Yeah, I still have mine, too (the white/blue/silver pair). They're from a totally different planet than those crap 2015 retros. The 2015s were like a poor facsimile of the OG design. In addition to the weird shape, the entire shoe was scaled down in size, even the outsole. Just a super-weird retro. I remember holding them next to my '03s--the difference was jarring.

Jalen Rose balled in these circa fab 5 era right?

The entire Fab Five (and Michigan team) did. It's impossible to overstate the impact the Fab Five had in terms of the look/style/culture of the game. A lot of what they brought out fashion-wise wasn't their invention, as it was already popular and normal in pickup games and on the street and in casual wear. But it was pretty much the first team with national exposure to really lean into it on the big-time stage. The extra-baggy shorts, the t-shirts rather than always wearing official warmup suits during pregame. And of course, the black socks. (It's always been funny to me that, as the story goes, I believe it was a friend of Ray Jackson or Jimmy King who actually came up with the idea, not any of the players. Where's that guy today? He deserves a billion dollars in black-socks royalties  )
They were so (at the time) brash and outrageous to the stuffy mainstream, they became a rock band. They were like the college version of the Bulls on the road--everyone wanted to see them. And as a result, anything they rocked became instantly cool and credible. If those guys hadn't worn Flight Huaraches, I doubt the shoe would've done what it did at retail. And the following season when they rocked the black/white Air Force Max, well, that instantly made it a shoe we all wanted, too. To this day, I always want retros of that shoe for no other reason.
