While the Book 1 is arguably an all time classic in the making...I don't think there's any saving the 2.

Oh okay, that’s fair. At that point it’s really just personal preference. I’ve definitely seen other people say the same thing online.
For me, I think people are mixing up the silhouette with the colorways. If someone doesn’t like the retail color palette, that’s totally valid. But I don’t think that means the shoe itself needs “saving.”
The shape, proportions, and overall design are solid, especially as an everyday/off-court sneaker. I know on court it varies per person. Some people love em, some people hate em. The biggest issue, in my opinion, is that Book has shown so many incredible PE colorways that set the bar really high, while the retail pairs have been more on the conservative side. It was kinda of what happened with the 1 too.
With that being said some of my favorite colorways that released have been fragment, Spiridon, Haven, McDonald’s, the upcoming black and silver team bank, purple foam, just book, and tiger camo. Chevy pack on the way too, possibly.

I have a pair of 1 and while they had some amazing colorways the shoe looked way too casual

I wear the WNBA pair all the time. Once broken in the 2 feels like clouds.

Book takedown model or 1.5? 3? Right shoe looks like a 1 with a 2 midsole. Left shoe looks like a swooshless 2 with nylon Cortez upper. And he blurred them out on his recent ig story.

If they are blurring them, those are probably the 3s.
And if so, the designs are just getting lazier.
I think it is time Nike execs stop letting Book have input on the shoe and just let Ben Nethongkome make a classic design without Book's input.

That's pretty much where I land too. I wanted to like the Book 2, but it seems like the consensus is that it's a downgrade on court. The Book 1 set a really high bar, and I just haven't seen the same enthusiasm frompeople actually hooping in the Book 2. It’s making me hesitant to buy when they will go on deep discount.

Idk, Book 1s are elite, but it depends on play style, book 2s still deliver
I play much quicker in the 2s, and I think it's due to the forefoot being better vs the 1. More heel support in the 1 though.......
