Nike LeBron 23

It’s kinda funny how people act like we need to see your skill level to justify… an opinion.

Did you actually play in the shoes? Do you understand the tech and specs? Can you communicate your experience clearly? That’s all that really matters to me.

No offense to any of the big shoe tubers, but I doubt most of them would stand out at some of the runs I used to hit back in the day… (not bragging or anything) and that doesn’t make their reviews any less valid.

For example… NBA media is full of guys who probably can’t make a left-handed layup, but people still respect what Bill Simmons or Windy have to say.

What’s the difference?
Exactly. People tune into Stephen A talking about what an NBA player/roster has to do in order to win but **** on an actual podiatrist giving us info on sneakers, how they objectively perform, and foot health.

😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, no offense but I wouldn’t want someone who tops off at 10min miles to review my running shoe performance. It matters when you actually use them. That said, no one person in the end all be all. Basketball shoes is also a lot of preference, so there’s that factor.

I tend to look for people with my same build and ability for reviews of athletic gear

for those who went TTS, yall not experiencing any heel slippage? also seems pretty roomy lengthwise

Stephen A is actually a poor example. I know it's cool to **** on dude, but most people didn't play on any college team, much less get a scholarship to do it.

Nobody's feet are like yours, and if you hoop, nobody who is doing shoe reviews simultaneously has feet like yours and plays just like you do.

You can takeaway whatever you can get from any of these reviewers. And if you're smart, you're on here asking questions of other guys like bballkid11 bballkid11 , duke40 duke40 , junjdm junjdm or Beeb2407 Beeb2407 about how shoes work or don't.

And sometimes its about what isn't said. If you know all the hoopers who try out every shoe commented once saying the shoe wasn't good for x, y and z reason and then just stop commenting in the thread, that tells you something too.

But more importantly what I've learned over the years is that each shoe is built for certain players feet, and you should try shoes out because what works for you might not work for other people. Like I don't particularly care about Russ or Sabrina or Giannis necessarily. But the Freak 1s were great for me. The Sabrina 1s have been a mainstay for me. And Russ I actually can't stand, but his sigs and the takedowns work for my feet. So I ball in those.

Love Bron but can't ball in any Brons the way I like. Love KD's game but every pair of KDs I've gotten hurts my one knee. Jordans since the 34 have been somewhat reliable court-wise.

So at the end of the day, you just have to try them for yourself, if you're playing in them.

I’m more so comparing the fact that in basketball, Stephen A has not competed at the top level AT ALL. Collegiate or Pro, and there are no HS stats to show for either. So in my book, he’s just talking. And I’m not ****ting on him, I’m indifferent to his opinions. He’s the first one that came to mind so I mentioned him. This applies to every person like him though.

Whereas FDZ in his field (podiatry) has reached the top, so to speak, and is a certified and licensed podiatrist. So his information holds more value to me. The measurements, the tests, and overall info all come from a place of expertise and experience. Is he a great, or even just good basketball player? No. But he doesn’t have to be. That’s not what his channel is about. It’s Foot Doctor Zach after all and not Basketball Player Zach.

I personally watched “performance” reviews mainly for sizing since I used to order kicks online heavy. Like Public Enemy Public Enemy just mentioned, I’d rather try them on court myself. I truly miss the era of no performance reviews, you just like certain players and try to wear what they wear 😂 or hit the store and go from there.

Feel like since the 20s, lebrons have shifted from the kind of player that could wear them.

A little heel slippage for sure. Where as at half down this wasn’t a problem. But comfort low key was. Also, I removed the drop-in and put my foot over it, it was perfect in terms of length. I think it’s the way the drop-in works with the shoe itself. It’s weird. Disappointing to say the least.

Edit: To add to this, I put the XX on one foot and the XXIII on the other and sizing feels the same it’s literally just the heel lockdown that is different. The XX is obviously superior in terms of “hugging” my heel where as the XXIII there is the slightest bit of movement.

Surprise shout out lol. Hey I know im the minority but I dont be trying different hoop kicks. It went from kobes... all the sig models except 10s and 11s as I just put the halo 3s to the test last week. And now Sabrinas... thats it.. I dont venture off into others. The best thing is to get from Nike and test them out and if they dont work return them within that 60 day period.

This doesn't make any sense. So, your go to for basketball is Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins? Most of the head coaches didn't play in the NBA or NFL. The worst takes I hear normally come from former NBA players. You can watch Gil's show and see an opinion is a opinion.

What would Stephen A need to score to satisfy you? Stephen A had a scholarship to Winston Salem State. That's nothing? Where did you play? So are you saying your opinion has no value?

Shouldn't you consider where someone went to school, their grades, customer experience, etc since you want to nitpick what Stephen A accomplished. Much less being a beat reporters and having watched basketball for 40 years.

and I think FFZ is making it up as he goes along.

Stephen A got bad takes just like everyone else because that’s what modern sports media rewards (with attention/impressions/revenue). He also vacillates between “journalism” and feuding with stars when things get personal, which is where he and reporters like him lose me.

Yeah, off topic but nobody should take him serious for anything. ANYTHING

I don’t have a “go to”. I watch the games and go from there. Anything that happens behind closed doors amongst these teams is none of my business. The greatest coaches of all time were former players in two of my favorite sports. Football (⚽️) and Basketball.

These terrible takes you speak of, to me, is just a method these guys use to go “viral” and become relevant. Pierce is comedy to me, but he is a proven winner and when he gets serious I believe he is someone worth listening to. Thing is, these guys rarely get serious so I rarely listen regardless of their achievements because I can decipher between the bs.

As for Stephen, he’d have to have won at a level comparable to that achieved by the guys he’s criticizing. I’m a “nobody” in the sense that I can’t relate or speak on what these professionals go through or what it takes to win at that level. I might have an “idea” but I, me, do not KNOW. So I won’t speak on it. Nor would I agree to receive a certain amount of money to speak on what I don’t know.

I do consider their qualifications to speak on the matter they’re addressing. I don’t know how one could argue against FDZ’s qualifications when that is easily verified. The guy is a podiatrist in Ohio.

I had a slight amount of heel slip at first, but I think it was mostly due to the upper being so stiff at first, after about 30 of playing in them, the upper started flexing better and the heel slip went away. I am going to get a pair half size down to see how they feel. I had not problems with my true to size, but the toe feels roomy and it just feels like my foot isn’t flexing in the right part of the shoe. I usually prefer a tighter fit

‘Preciate it. Just wish I was still young enough to go like I used to when I started here (51 now).
