California's economy is in trouble and deep in the red. Illegals are a large part of the reason but no one wants to hear it.

My undergrad university charged a TON for summer school. I would've thought they made a decent profit off of it.

Damn, yall go to pomona...I had no idea. I'm not graduating, but this sets me back a quarter. Good luck to yall.

P.S. What's good with Mt. Sac?

Our counselor warned us about this. He ended up lecturing us to not fail any classes because there wouldn't be any summer school available, budget cutsftl. South Central area btw

didn't know there were so many people that went to cal poly LOL

I graduated last year though

And u guys are frl majors too. Small world

This is crazy though. All summer classes got cancelled?! Or just some frl

Damn this sucks, I can't believe they are cutting Cal Grants too, just raise the taxes a lil dammit.

Our States takes in mountains of tax revenues, why are one of the most taxed states in the union. The State cannot manage its money, the more it gets themore it wastes and now we have drastic things like this happening.

Although the CSU system should have higher tuiton as it default and reduce the tuition for children from lower income families. It makes no sense for kids fromhigh income households to pay about 3k per year in tuition when the cost per study is well over 20k, that is big subsidy for many students whose parents paidmore for their private k-12 schooling. If the default for tuition was the full cost of the education, with the tuition dropping/ being subsidized by the taxpayer as the parents' cinome drops we wuld save a ton of money and still have education be no less accessible.

The ideas of havin ga great public education up and down this states, that is affordable for any child, is a wonderful idea but right now that wonderful ideais a nightmare because it provides a subsidy of about 20k in the CSU system and a similar subsidy in the UC system to tens of thousand of students, fromfamilies that could and should pay for a bigger part or all of the part of their children's education, especially because unlike other state expenditures, the primary beneficiaries are the students and not the tax paying public at large.

California should not have to cut any important programs like firefighters and summer schools in college and teachers in k-12, nor should taxes be raised adime. We need to stop having welfare for people who do not need and this low tuition regardless of income is an example of that, a prime example.

a lot of the classes don't transfer though unless you're a freshman or something. Those that are deep into their major have to take classes at theUniversity

Yup, I think it's all the CSU, they pull the plug on CSF too (although I wasn't gonna go this summer anyways)
