Check craigslist for a used board and bindings, but you should probably buy everything else new, don't wanna rock someone's old skunky boots

IMO South Lake Tahoe probably has more nightlife readily available. Lake Tahoe Blvd. strip runs into Nevada where you can find casinos and such. North Lake Tahoe probably has decent nightlife too, I think you just gotta look for them. I've been to Incline Village in North Tahoe on the Nevada side and it was alright. You can always hit up the bars at resorts too (Northstar and Squaw have nice villages), gonna guess they get pricey tho.

Past 2 seasons, N* / Sierra were my home mountains.

Of course, this year my buds and I decide to change it up...and then the buyout happens and there's a Triple Whammy now.

Not complaining though...Kirkwood is my new home mountain, and from everything I've ridden so far, it's going to be INCREDIBLE when it starts dumping.

It's gonna puke in the Sierras this weekend. Should be fun.

same story here, we chose a bad year to leave the 'Star, I got the Squaw pass this season. Kirk McGirt is awesome though, good choice. I'm in my boy's Subie on the way back from Squaw right now. We had a great time, had some dope powder runs but it was a funky day; the whole upper mountain was closed due to possible avalanche, you could hear them dynamiting up there all morning. A pic of the Squaw Creek side:

Hey fellas, I wanna go up to tahoe and hit the bunny slopes.  Just me and my lady friend and am looking to stay up there for one night.  Basically, get up there hella early, snowboard, get some good food out in town and then crash in a cabin or resort.  Where the best spo for such a thing?

Any good deals out there?

TIA

Renting out a cabin for one night is gonna be tough, especially during the holidays when there's a minimum days required for renting. From the sounds of it, you'd probabyly wanna look around South Lake Tahoe/Heavenly.

23nando23, you should either stay in Reno, since there's plenty of places to eat and affordable rooms, and ride @ Sugarbowl. or stay @ a casino in South Lake Tahoe and ride Sierra or Heavenly.

This thread's pretty much dead, does anyone actually snowboard!?!? No Norcal NT summit(corny pun intended) @ the top of the slopes!?!?

I was @ Squaw all day yesterday and stayed for the night session too, it was a great day. I only found one little powder stash on the Shirley Lake side, but I love doing Mach 3 down the groomed runs

We need an NT Summit at the Summit for all snowboarders, skiers, and partiers who are down to make the trek

What's up with this warm January weather? Anyone head up to Tahoe lately? I'm thinking of going up sometime this week but the weather seems to be a big turnoff...

Yeah its been terrible for boarding in my opinion, there's a high pressure system off the coast blocking the cold weather from us. I haven't gone up in weeks, but I have dusted off my motorcycle boots for the last two weekends
