NT Geek Squad (Computer Specialists): Odrama Needs Your Assistance.

Do you the name of any of your videos??? Like the file name?/

You can go to the find function in windows, type the file name including the type if file like....Casino Royale.avi

that will find where that file is exactly. Once you find one file, im sure all the others will be there too. Once you've found them all put them in afolder, then go back to your control panel videos, and go to properties. In properties there should be option to change the directory. Or just leave it alone, and change the name to control panel again.

Hope this works.

Nothing my dude.

- again i ask:

- it sounds like you manged to lock your video folder. do you have some sort of password protection program on your computer?

- more specifically did you have some sort of password on your video folder.

- i ask because when i search the symptoms of your problem i keep finding topics about locked/password protected folders redirecting to the control panel. andthe remedies dont sound promising at all. it would help more if we knew what (if at all) program you used that corrupted your folder.

Nah, I haven't used any pw protection programs to my knowledge.

I just remember vaguely messing around with the settings of the folder, And then here we are...

Like I said, It was last summer, I don't even remember what I did.

- damn dude. i tried searching every way i can. the best thing i could find was this http//forums.techarena.in/tips-tweaks/1069688.htm , maybe you can use this to unlock it idk.
- one thing's for sure if you take it to CC or Best Buy you can kiss those files goodbye. dont kow where you work but you might try talking to someone inyour IT department.....

- i definitely sounds like you somehow locked your folder though, but as complicated as that is to do without software it just doesnt make sense. good luck.

Its most def the way you hid it
try again, this time use parentheses, like:

ren "My videos" "Control Panel.{21EC2020- 3AEA-1069- A2DD-08002B30309 D}"

Still didn't work...I saved as open.bat and everything.

I was reading the link you posted, And it said something about key.bat and loc.bat...What's that about?

bat is a batch file. those are just used to exec the dos commands. it doesnt matter what you name them. ren is rename. the {21EC2020- 3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309 D} is the control panels clsid. you can also try renaming it in windows and see if that breaks the redirect. or keep trying to use the dos:
it might be case sensitive too..

ren "My videos.{21EC2020- 3AEA-1069- A2DD-08002B30309 D}" "My videos"

and make sure you are not hiddening file name ext... cmd prompt should pop up when you open the .bat
