^ thinkpads used to be good when IBM was american made, but from the words of an ex-IBM worker; ever since they were sold to lenovo (chinese company) they haven't been the same, but to me a dell latitude or a thinkpad is as far as I would go wit PCs

went from a 17 inch Toshiba to a Macbook Pro, never again will I go back to a PC. Never really had virus problems with my Toshiba Windows program but I do appreciate not having to deal with a million pre loaded virus scan and/or pop up approvals for every little move you make. From my personal experience, windows based computers tend to slow down dramatically when you are running multiple programs or have multiple windows open ultimately leading to "freezing" or "restarting."

I've had a macbook pro for a little over a year now and it still performs the same as it did fresh out the box. Get a macbook and you will appreciate the multitasking ability without lag along with a much better battery life. The Toshiba model I had, needed to have the power supply connected to or else it would just simply die, battery life dwindled so quickly, only lasted about 6-8 months at a time.

Way too many people enter the "Mac vs. PC" argument acting as if it's factual that one is better than the other...

Anyone who owns or has ever owned a Macbook would agree that its absolutely ridiculous to think any other overall laptop experience even compares.

They are worth every penny. Forreal.

well the quality of nike is still better than that of pro keds and sketchers rite, starburrys...??, and if looks don't matter in a laptop how come all laptops don't look the same so that we can only focus on productivity/entertainment?? and if even if we were to focus on productivity/entertainment macbook pros will still top all other brands jus like nike even wit not such good quality and not such great designs as before is still king of the sneaker game, like I said already "think bfor u speak"

Looking for a laptop easy to carry around preferably 15-inch to fit my backpack. Usage mainly in websurfing, papers, great on battery life and some gaming here and there.

Was looking into the MacBook Pros, to try something other than Windows, but are they worth every penny?

i recently switched from a compaq laptop to a macbook, and i would never go back to a windows based computer. My macbook is much more convenient, and it seems like everything is more fluid to me. The only problem i have is when running PS and bridge editing pictures it tends to slow a little, but i also have thousands of pictures on my computer. If your just going to be using it to write papers, internet, and lite gaming i would say go for a macbook before anything else.

Also, if the price is a big deterrent to you, i would check ebay. Maybe buy a slightly used one/refurbished one. I personally checked ebay for a week and ended up getting a 6 month old MB for 480 shipped.
