I got a i7 MBP, things rock solid, no problems.
You could get a i5 MBP & still be good, or even a earlier gen model. You'll love the Operating system.

Btw, with parallels, I got windows on mine too.
Basically, you get a mac, you get both Mac OS & Windows OS.

Nope, because at the end of the day, the Mac with those specs is going to run flawlessy and smooth for as long as you have it as opossed to a PC who in a few years will be crap and will need updating or a complete erase and reinstill of Windows.

I've mad my Macbook Pro for years (maybe 5?) and it runs just as it did on day one. I have friends who have new computers with better specs that prefer how my mac runs.

Macs might be expensive, but trust me when I say that it will run a lot smoother and last longer than any PC will.

If you have the money, buy a Mac. If you don't, save up some more or buy a PC and expect to make this same post much sooner than if you bought a Mac.

I'm also looking at buying a laptop for school and I have been lookin at the Samsung Qx410. Cnet gave it pretty good reviews. Has anyone had any experiences with Samsung laptops?

mac > pc

Ever since I got a mac I don't have to worry about viruse's, freezing, stupid programs popping up, and never have I had to restart it.

Fast boot, never would I ever go back to a pc. And Windows 7 is trash.
