NYC Winter Storm 2020

I'm usually not a huge fan of snow, but I'm off for the next week and we haven't had any noteworthy snowfall in a few years so I'm ready for this.

My hospital just called me trying to tempt me to work 16 hour shifts the next 2 days by shacking me up at a luxury hotel a mile down the road.

East Coast/Mid-Atlantic/Midwest regions get melt-freeze for like two weeks after sizable snowfalls so I hate snow in those parts.

Heard snowfall in Denver hits and melts within a day or so, which sounds enjoyable (I think).

Yeah this stuff is gonna stick around until Christmas in the northeast.

Bro people don’t understand if you lose power you can put the cold cuts outside in the snow to keep cold and keep yourself freshly fed. I went through 3 day power out storms in RI so I know it’s levels to surviving those situations.

I mean...okay, but like...

If you're geared up for survival mode, cold cuts ain't the move. They have a 3-4 day shelf life as is. You'd have better luck with actual cuts of meat or working with canned options.

This sounds like Survivorman for people who have absolutely no idea how to cook or begin the learning process.

So glad I’m not plowing snow this year.

we haven’t had any storms anyways.

You could have a foot of snow in Denver (at least in the metro area that was very rare) at 3AM and by 5PM the same day it would all be mostly melted. Snow doesn’t stick around in Denver because it is always sunny. Strangest thing ever it could be bright and sunny and still be below freezing.

im so glad im off today... the snow is crazy out today here in NJ... i guess im not used to it since we didnt get much snow during 2020 winter jan-march

snow was only cool to me the first time i seen it. living with it is terrible.

Had a good time shoveling my front yard and sidewalk at my house in Brooklyn. A few kids came out then built snowmen, had a few snowball fights as well. Pretty cool to see. Salted the stairs, front yard and sidewalk, all is melting already, albeit slowly. Sun shining bright right now. Good to finally see snow like this, it has been a few years.
