Oakland RAIDERS Off-Season Thread: Under New Management

Rod ain't going nowhere I wouldn't feed into Raiders rumors guys they rarely come true.

What is a huge is that we're interviewing McKenzie today for the GM job, which would be GREAT. Bring Wolf along too

I think the assistant coaches will stay. With Ron Wolf helping with the GM search. I think Mckenzie will become the GM. He will bring Elliott Wolf with him for Scouting Director/Player Development.

@ the Reggie McKenzie pickup. Just who I wanted.

Now that we have a GM. We need to fill our Defensive coaching vacancy. I think we should hire Del Rio as coordinator.
With Singltary as LB coach and Raheem Morris as DB coach. But feel that Mckenzie will bring Winston Moss with him. Make him the D coordinator and we will make a switch to a 3/4 Def.

I'm down with the idea of going to a 3-4 D..I just don't know if we have the personell for it right now..? The strongest point of our D right now is our Line...our weakest point of our D is probably our LB's..
Super juiced to hear about McKenzie and Bresnahan gettin the ax

Wish Woodson was staying, but understandable.

I feel very confident about the McKenzie hiring. I've been calling for his hire since a little after Al passed away, and I think that his acceptance of the position comes with the understanding that he will be in control of all things football within the organization. I'm sure Hue will continue to have input on personnel matters, but reining him in is in the best interest of the organization. Let McKenzie go to work and we'll hopefully see the positives of this hire.

I started cooking in bed when my cousin texted me that we got McKenzie.

If we end up with Del Rio it would almost be too good to be true.

McKenzie's interview was conducted by Mark Davis and John Madden

ESPN has a newswire bit from Chris Mortenson that Reggie is considering replacing Hue. Given his eye for talent that people are crediting him with, I'm wondering who he has in mind as a replacement.

^UPDATE
Adam Schefter just reported on NFL Countdown that new Oakland Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie will be formally introduced Tuesday. Rumors are swirling that he may indeed bring in his own staff starting with Winston Moss(Packers assistant) as Head Coach.

Wouldn't want to see Winston go but its cool that he'd get a HC job.

Just don't take Joe Whitt or Darren Perry from us.

fraij can you tell us some about Moss? If he's going to be the replacement I want to feel somewhat optimistic about it.

There's not much I can really say other than I like the guy... Fans don't really get to see whats really going on with Asst. Coaches since its almost all behind the scenes... But you look at the ILB's that hes coached and its mostly positive.

Barnett gave us several years of very good play minus his injuries

Young guys right now like DJ Smith and Francois came in this year and filled in for Hawk and Bishop and played very well in their first real action

Hawk hasn't lived up to his draft pick but its not because his instincts are bad or because he misses assignments, he just gets pushed around more than he should.

Bishop though has definitely made huge strides and has become more than I could have asked from him... Hes assignment sure and a great tackler.
