[| -- Official 2008 "Glow In The Dark" Tour: KanYe, Lupe, N.E.R.D. & Rihanna Post -- |]

I was in section 110 row 14, to the left of the stage if you had been looking straight on. It's amazing to look up and around the arena in mid-song. Seeing all the people with their hands and diamonds in the sky was truly a sight to behold.
Great review...just had to quote this b/c I completely agree. I commented (yelled haha) this to one of my friends during Diamonds...just lookingat 15k or whatever people doing that at once was ridiculous. Another thing I thought was great was watching the giant screens to the left/right of thestage...the camera would be even with the stage and made it look even more as if 'Ye was out "in space" by himself...

I gotta agree w/something I read a page back or so...it's annoying when people don't know the lyrics to some of his older/best songs (Spaceship/Throughthe Wire/etc.)...I thought the closing of Hey Mama/Stronger/Homecoming/Touch the Sky was the best part of the whole show though.

Damn I wanted to go to this so bad but the Jacksonville show got cancelled. Damn if it ain't Plies or Webbie it ain't gonna sell in Duval.

BONKERS show...just bonkers.

Push, phone died during the show, what'd yall do afterwards??

just a note, the set-list NEEDS to change!!

Went to the show last night here in Chicago, it was insane.
I don't even know where to start!

Haha right next to our section, fights kept breaking out, one of them involved two white dudes, with one of them with a shirt that read, "THROW DEMBOWS", hahaha! Another one involved a lottttttt of beers being thrown at some dude, then a handful of people getting escorted out.

Other than that, the show was ridiculous. Lupe was awesome, N.E.R.D was so hype, ending with Seven Nation Army, and Rhianna did her thing; I was pleasantlysurprised. Kanye's entire set was amazing, it was an entertaining story. The preface to Gold Digger was too funny, haha.

If you don't go to this concert, you're missing a lottttt!

btw. Does anyone know what N.E.R.D's first song was?

All i can say is wow.

I was right next to those beer fights and stuff. The entire show was amazing, lupe killed it, NERD killed it they were so hyped, rihanna wasnt bad she lookedgood as hell. Kanye, kanye, kanye that man is a genius. Everything he does is

. Must of felt good for kanye and lupe to be on the same stage at the same timeduring touch the sky in their home town. You could just feel the emotion in them. Great show.

If you can see this show make sure you do. You wont be let down.

Lupe started shortly after 7pm. I would say the UC was 3/4 full. He performed "Hip-Hop Saved My Life", "Kick Push", "Go Go Gadget", "Paris Tokyo", "Fighters", and "Superstar". Lupe's a great performer. He encored with "Daydreamin." He had a girl perform as well....gosh, I forget her name, but the track was dope as hell.

N.E.R.D. was next up, and let me tell you, their set was one of the hypest that I've ever witnessed. The crowd was in a frenzy. I dont remember their opening track, but they performed "Rockstar", "Lapdance", "She Wants To Move", "Everyone Nose", "Brain", and "Spazz." There were about 25 dudes on stage during "Spazz", including Chris Brown. Dude was doin his patented dance moves. The camera would focus on him, and the crowd went nuts. The whole vibe during that song was insane. The arena was rocking.....really amazing to see. The energy was off the charts. Pharell, Shay, Chad, and the band were terrific. At one point some girls came on to the stage to dance. Some were nice, one was kinda chubby and getting to grindy.

Rihanna was up next. She performed all of her hits. "SOS", "Pon De Replay", "Breakin Dishes", "Unfaithful", "Stop the Music", "Take a Bow", and a Chris Brown-less "Umbrella." Rihanna looked like a outer space witch, but she performed well. I sat down during two songs I think, but I really enjoyed it.

After about 35 minutes Kanye came out and opened with "Good Morning." Crowd was going nuts. His stage was combination space ship/ planet looking. The video effects were great, the screens were crystal clear, and the sound was great. He performed "I Wonder", "Heard 'Em Say" ,Through the Wire", "Champion", "Get 'Em High", "Diamonds from Sierra Leone", "Can't Tell Me Nothing"", Flashing Lights", "Spaceship , "All Falls Down", "Gold Digger", "Good Life", "Jesus Walks", "Hey Mama" ........when he goes "i wanna scream so loud for you" he would urge the crowd, and we got loud as hell.

"Don't Stop Believing" came on while Ye had a seat on the astro hill. Then he did "Stronger", "Homecoming", and finished with "Touch the Sky" with Lupe. Crowd was in a frenzy. He didn't address the crowd much until the end when he told us how much he loved Chicago. He told how he made it out the South side, and Lupe from the West, to make it big. Ye's mom taught at Chicago State, and while she preferred that he get his education, she supported her son all the way.

I was in section 110 row 14, to the left of the stage if you had been looking straight on. It's amazing to look up and around the arena in mid-song. Seeing all the people with their hands and diamonds in the sky was truly a sight to behold. As expected there were lots of people wearing the "Stronger" glasses and Kanye tour shirts. I wore the teal and yellow GITD shirt with the ginger AJ XIV lows.

The majority of the crowd was Caucasian, but there were lots of other races, backgrounds, and genres present. It was a fantastic show. All in all it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I was disappointed that Lupe was the guest during Kanye's set. I thought maybe Common or Twista would make an appearance, but Kanye stuck to his usual playlist. Dude gave 100% and the crowd loved him for it. The people going on Saturday are in for a treat.

...and they say "Chi-City".

Yea bro i saw u on the first floor i was in-line for the t-shirts. I think i had on a red/red leaders shirt and some Paris BW's.

Chicago was insane, was expecting CRS or maybe common to come on during get em high or do southside, but i was still satisfied none the less, Did anyone elsehave upper level seats on the left side of the stage because during Lupe the speakers were producing to much bass and you couldn't even here a word he saidbut luckily they fixed it during NERD, Great Concert even though Lupe was hard to hear he still put on a great show and i still enjoyed it, the place waspretty full when he was towards the end of the set so i was happy for him (Also copped the Lupe Fiasco The Cool shirt, the black one
pimp.gif
)and at the end he brought out his gold album which was cool. NERD is a amazingband live, Spazz Live>Spazz on your Ipod, There set was great, Rockstar was amazing and them bringing out the groupies for she likes to move was funny, looking forward to hearing their new album and would definitely go see them in a smaller venue, Rihanna did her thing, i sat down during it because i reallydon't like her music(just not my taste) and I only really knew umbrella, but she is doing good and had all the girls there singing her songs, she says shehas like the number one song in the country so good for her, she sang great and looked good too, it was definitely tolerable.

Kanye really brings in a different crowd now, Graduation really pushed him into the mainstream, When i was waiting in line there were these little 13 year oldsgirls bickering over what Kanye west shirt to get and what size, with all these people in line, while their mom shelled out like 130 bucks for all theirt-shirts while the group of girls were talking about how much worse it was for them to get shirts at the Fall Out Boy Concert
eyes.gif
, while i was their behind them giving them this
indifferent.gif
while waiting in line for 30 minutes just trying to get my Lupe Shirtwhich i only saw like 1 other guy buy while i was waiting unfortunately , It was definitely diverse crowd from young to old and all types of races which wascool but i was just wondering how many of them would of been at the show after College Drop Out or Late Registration, but I'm happy for Kanye for gettinghis, ok now back to the concert.

His set was amazing, really enjoyed the intertwining of the songs even though the story was corny at times, Mr.West put his heart and soul into theperformance, He mad Good Life hundred times better live and i was going crazying during spaceship, gettem high and all falls down. The stage was insane and thelights and special effects were perfectly executed, Also the HD screen was a nice touch on the side, Are they filming a Tour video because it looked like thatwith a crane camera and stuff, Touch the sky at the end with Lupe was amazing, the place was going crazy and definitely was perfect to send the show off with,Also the intro to goldigger was quite funny and him rubbing on the screen
laugh.gif
, Even though Kanye's style of music has changed from CD and Late Registration he still is a great performer and still is putting out some goodmaterial that has pushed him to the level of world wide fame, even though the video screen calling Kanye the brightest star in the galaxy was really corny, Ican't deny he's on the top of the game right now and it is well deserved. His speech at the end was cool and he at least interacted with the crowd, Iunderstand why he doesn't during his performance because he's telling a story.

Overall it was a great concert, All the performances were amazing, Got to finally go the United Center and see the Michael Jordan statue, It was worth the 3hour drive to get there, don't miss out on seeing this show.

Lyrical-I know right, kinda whack. They were only suppose to hit tour dates where they didn't come through on promo tour. Well when the promo tour was tocome to Cincy it snowed like 20 inches and got cancelled. Now no N.e.r.d in Cincy 2/2 times. I'm just glad I saw them in Tampa. Their set was crazy!

This concert was the most amazing experience in my life. I saw it in Toronto on May 21. I could have been a better venue than the Molson Amphitheatre ( likethe Air Canada Centre) but still it was nuts. It was cold and it was raining but it didn't even matter. Every artist killed it. Every concert I go to forthe rest of my life will be compared to the Glow in the Dark Tour.

Just caught the show last night in Winnipeg. Amazing!!! Ye came through with Fab back in October and he did a great show, but his set on the Glow in the DarkTour was excellent. The set was great, the story was entertaining, and the order of the songs was perfect. Janet Jackson even flew in to catch the show. Didn't realize she was there until I read the concert review in the newspaper this morning.
