found this pic on the espn comments' on the Sabean article. I think it was a legal but ill-intended/dirty play. Cousins was interviewed at the end of the game and he claimed he saw buster catch the ball.  They said this dude getting death threats!?! Serious or just agent exaggerating, so people will take it easy on him? IDK but this whole situation has turned ugly if only this scrub would've slid or not plow over Posey  then everyone would be cool.

But the thing is, if he saw posey catch the ball, (which he very well could have from his angle) and if cousins would have slid it would have been an easy out. Thats why he went towards posey to jar it loose.

Of course he is. Clearly, all his comments are fueled by emotion due to the Giants' "Golden Boy" was injured for the rest of the year. Looking at that photo, clearly Cousins had a clear path to the plate, but if he believed Posey caught the ball, then obviously he had a right to run into Posey. It's unfortunate, but it happens. Pretty crazy reading that Cousins has been receiving death threats...I wonder if he'll decide to move out of San Francisco now in the offseason. Haha.
Oh yeah, what a game by Aubrey Huff. Time to come alive big boy.

I'm sorry but I cant *%%* with sabean on this.
This is the risk that the team knew they ran even before he got called up to the league.

It was a unnecessary play by cousins, but I dont blame him for what he did.

To me, this is no different than a player going in hard at second base and hoping the ss gets out of the way before a player comes in sliding, which I have seen posey and every other player do an endless amount of times.

Huff daddy getting back into the rhythm of things

I find it funny when people (fans, analysts, former catchers, Dumb +%% Sabean, etc) make comments like "he clearly went right into Posey" or "he intentionally launched himself directly into Posey." NO ##%+*$* KIDDING.

That fact alone doesnt make it a dirty or unnecessary play.

If Posey catches the ball and Cousins slides, he is out by a mile. Im sorry if this next sentence offends anyone......but anyone who thinks this was a dirty/unnecessary play has either never played baseball, or doesnt have a fundamental understanding of how the game is played.

!+#+ happens. It is unfortunate, but what more can you say?

I'm so !++#%$@ tired of this story. Everybody, including the Giants, move the %%!% on. It was an unfortunate incident. It happens. There is still a season to be played.

I can't believe I'm still listening to this on KNBR a week after it happened.

My view on this ordeal is a little different.
I played baseball for much of my life, at a high level, all the way into college with a cup of tea in the Big West Conference.  I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the baseball culture in Sacramento, but we have a long history.  We're Larry Bowa guys. People play hard, old school baseball. I was involved in games where we brawled for less. Much less.

I'm not calling Cousins a bad person, and it is unfortunate that Buster broke his leg. What I will tell you, however, is that none of us have the right to tell anyone in the Giants family to get over it. Whether you agree with the play or not, your team is your family, and if someone hurts my brother, I will stand up for him, just like he will for me.

Sabean is standing up for his guy. The Giants locker room is fired up, I promise you. That is a team.

I suspect the Giants won't get over it, and I don't want them to. I want them to carry that play with them for the rest of the season. Every win, for Posey, from here on out.

An outsiders POV, I didn't think the slide was dirty or malicious but I do think it was unnecessary of Cousins. But then again, Buster catches the ball and that clear path is taken away with one quick tag. I don't agree with Sabean's comments and while I always think it never works out when you speak when tempers are still hot, I can understand where he's coming from. But you know if tables are turned and Posey is running over John Buck, he's praising the tough play. And if it was still Molina out there, I don't think this uproar is coming. Posey has the Jeter treatment and it's well deserved.

One more thing, the death threats this kid Cousins is recieving is really shocking to me especially from Giants fans and what happened to Brian Stow. It's a shame it really came to that and those hypocrites deserve the worst punishment imaginable for it getting to that point.

Agree with both of these.
