OFFICIAL 2015-2016 College Football Season Thread

I think they did Sarkisian foul as well and don't think they should have fired him before at least December,

But the shock some of you are displaying kinda makes me wonder if you've ever been fired from a job before?

I know dudes who have shown up for work and their key cards don't work anymore. The company mails your stuff home.

You've been fired on a tarmac or been told of your firing by friends/family first?

Just for context

‏@schadjoe
Pat Haden says he couldn’t reach Sarkisian for hours after decision and they still haven’t spoken

@schadjoe
Steve Sarkisian didn’t answer Pat Haden’s calls b/c he was on a plane, en route to an out-of-state treatment facility

Why the hell would we want to have been fired? You acting like its a special privilege to be fired

Note the edit above.

Once they make the decision to send you packing for what is essentially an illness, the writings on the wall that you're out of the job. What would have been left would have been to let him save some dignity, but I by no means EXPECT that. Sark wasn't shocked. He may have hoped it wouldn't happen or wouldn't be so soon but he wasn't shocked.

I'm not shocked in the way any major corporation fires an employee, and don't get it twisted that's what every school and professional sports team is - a money making corporation first and foremost.

Would it have made it easier to stomach for everyone if Haden had called Sark before he decided to stain and bury him in the national media? He fired him for an alcohol related incident. All this extra **** about how he fired him who let him know, who tried to call who, how many times the phone rang etc. is just gossip and male soap opera.

Yea I've seen that happen before  :smh: dude found out when his card didn't work at the gate into the parking lot

Never knew Billups was Lendale White's cousin. Mind blown

So sad for Herschel Dennis btw, imagine if he had turned out too? The three of them would have been disgusting

Funny how Pete's hiring was denounced by Trojan fans. Forgot about that

Games were too lit. Every week was a video game. My first ever live college game was USC vs Fresno State. Sat in the 8th row or so. All I can say is

the whole game I was doing that

Got a little more info on the Daelin Hayes situation:

Apparently he suffers from a chronic shoulder injury

- hurt it at some point his freshman year, injured it again in the first game of his sophomore year and sat out the entire season.

- His junior year (moved to Cali with his mom who was trying to get him away from his dad) but then had to move him back to Michigan because of the custody dispute between the two, so he only played 3 games for St. Bonaventure.

- And just injured it again last week and is out for the rest of the year and possible the senior games.

The reason he was able to take so many unofficial visits to California is because he's been visiting a specialist out there because of his shoulder.

The chronic injury explains why a lot of schools (Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA) haven't really been recruiting him as hard as he seems like he should be - they think he's damaged goods. SC was the first to offer him and stuck by him so he felt a loyalty to them, and especially Sark. And in return, although SC was the first to know about his shoulder injury, Sark felt like it'd be horrible PR to cool on a kid who was their longest standing commitment and seemingly biggest fan. Plus if he turns out to be healthy the upside is enormous.

Daelin's parents apparently always liked ND more but agreed with his decision to stand by SC. He's been waffling for a while but was going to honor his commit until the Sark meltdown gave him his out. It looks like tO$U and UMich aren't really recruiting him at all so unless SC jumps back in it or Harbaugh changes his mind late, he's going to ND.

Also SC isn't going to face sanctions over announcing his commitment. Apparently the SEC teams get hit because of a special SEC imposed rule. USC just has to self report it.

So this narrative that Steve "quit" on his team is gaining speed sadly ...... I'm not sure if I'm aligned with that per se but what are your thoughts fellas?

The stress of losing is probably too much for him at his age.

I don't have an issue with it.
This

I also think he wanted to give one of his assistants a chance to keep the job.  If he stayed on, there would have been 0 chance USCe would have picked one of those guys to succeed him.

But why not just finish out the year?

Let this have been anyone else...

I mean, he's 70. It was affecting recruiting because everyone knew that he wasn't stick around, and they suck. He probably should've finished out the year, but he also gives his head assistant the chance to audition for  a job.

I think 305 hit the nail on the head...

Can't imagine someone like Bill Snyder doing this.

If it's health related, that's one thing...but Spurrier went out like a sucker.

It wasn't the best way to go out but I'll give him some props that he didn't stay there long enough to run them into the ground and have himself turn into a joke of a coach like Paterno did

CLK firing,. People still can't separate what actually happened with the narrative created by today's social media.

They tried to reach out to Sark after the decision was made. Couldn't be reached, they wouldn't have been able to keep a lid on it while Sark has decided to take a private steps to control his swirling life.

cant answer your bosses call, maybe Haden should've sent a text. Apparently he was reading those.

I don't think they should've waited until December. He had an incident in August which stirred the pot nationally, administration squashed it and stood behind him. Then this happens.

If you want to see reality, get hammered at your company Christmas party, to the point where you make an *** out of yourself and the company. Maybe you'll get fired or maybe you'll just get a warning, after all there is alcohol being served by the company for you to enjoy. Then for ***** and giggles, show up to work drunk and couple of times within 6 weeks. Let us know if you keep your job. Part time workers need not apply, you don't matter that much, you probably don't even get invited to company functions.

I don't think South Carolina fans can be mad at all. He took a laughable program and made them relevant for a while in the nation's strongest conference. He can do whatever the **** he wants as far as I'm concerned.
