Ill get it started post your thoughts and predictions. Neil Patrick Harris is hosting.

Who I think should win:

Best Picture: Whiplash
Actor: Cumberbatch/Keaton
Supprorting: J.K Simmons
Actress: Rosamund Pike
Supporting: Patricia Arquette
Adapted screenplay: American Sniper
Original screenplay: Birdman
Director: Birdman
Score: The Imitation Game

Who probably will:

Picture; Boyhood
Actor: Eddie Redmayne
Supporting: JK Simmons
Actress: Julianne Moore
Supporting: Patricia Arquette
Adapted: American Sniper
Original: Boyhood
Director: Richard Linklater
Score: Interstellar

I think Boyhood is going to have a good night I didn't like it too much, but the best movies i've seen this year (that are nominated) are Whiplash, Birdman, and Imitation Game. I enjoyed American Sniper but don't think it was that great. Still don't have a desire to see Theory of everything.

whiplash is the best movie of 2014

birdman or boyhood is going to win the award though

no lego movie

This whole Selma thing was blown out of proportion. They damn sure weren't gonna nominate it in some categories after 12 YS won some last year.

Birdman one of the best movies I've ever seen period, if he Alejandro don't win best director Kanye need to run on stage.

^ I agree, Birdman was awesome.. just the way it was shot... was amazing to me.

My sis told me, "Everything is Awesome" was up for an award.

If Hans Zimmer doesn't win Best Score for Interstellar I'll bet the Illuminati played a part in the decision.

I just need Gone Girl to win some awards
Shame its only nominated for one award: Best Actress - Rosamund Pike

I think it should have been at least nominated for best picture, best editing, best og score (Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross came through again with the dark, brooding sounds), cinematography, and adapted screenplay

But hey, it's the academy...plus I'm guessing the controversial ending turned a lot of the old voters off.

Julianne Moore and Arquette did not put on the performance Rosanund put on. It's a ******* shame that Julianne will win over her.

Nightcrawler should have been nominated. Hell of a movie. Jake was great.

Still Alice is mad overrated.

Finishing up watching some nominated films today. I'm going to try to watch Boyhood and The Theory of Everything, if I have time, The Grand Budapest Hotel too.

I'd have to agree, watched it last night with my wife and it blew us away. I LOVE it when films have long takes and this one had so many. read on imdb that the actors had to memorize up to 15 pages of dialogue for one take, while doing all that pacing. rehearsals must've been brutal, would love to see goofs from this flick because if one person messed up during the tail end of a scene they'd have to do it all over again. Norton was great in it too, I'd say he get supporting but i only watched 10 mins of whiplash and knew Simmons will get it
Movie was also very well acted. Keaton should easily walk away with best actor. while simmons gets his supporting. The director should win also. His next flick he's doing with Leo, he's shooting the entire film only using natural light.

was hoping grand budapest would get some shine too, lol

my picks
Best Picture: Birdman
Actor: Keaton
Supprorting: J.K Simmons
Actress: Rosamund Pike
Supporting: Patricia Arquette
Adapted screenplay: gone girl
Original screenplay: Birdman
Director: Birdman
Score: interstellar

Gone Girl blew me away too, I told my wife after we saw it in theatres, theres no way rosamund doesn't win, but after that it gets hard to place it with the other nominated films because it's based off a book(sometimes a crutch, sometime not)
plus nothing else really stood out EXCEPT Rosamunds performance, she carried the movie and needed to. I love Trent and Atticus but the next time they win i feel they will need to do something completely different, the same with fincher, who i felt was robbed for benjamin button and the social network.
