He loves Donte and genuinely said he wants to be here for a rebuild but Bama is doing what Bama does and us not having a HC isn't helping.
It's going to be the same thing as Bryce: it'll go til signing day, we'll make our pitches, his friends on the team will do their best, Bama will say "we're Bama," and it'll be 50-50 he'll go to Tuscaloosa.

The 2019 thing may have been out behind the scenes I think. Andy Staples in one of the pods I listen to said last week that his sources were claiming they think players lost faith in Lake because of the Oregon incident and others. He also said from sources it was clear the administration was fishing for a way to fire Lake for cause.

I have a hard time buying into "cause" but regardless...it's just not a good fit between the two (Lake and UW). Maybe they just don't wanna drag out the inevitable and bring that attention to the program.
