I believe IF Theo really wanted Manny, he could get it done, just depends how much he believes in Russell and what else the O's would want. Manny is CRUSHING right now, so that will only murk things up a bit in terms of value.

Naaaaaa. we need to be patient and pursue Bryce Harper. Russell is cool IMO.
 
Terrible, terrible loss today.

Morrow blows his first save, Farrell (?) pitches the 10th and gives up a walkoff HR. :smh:

Blew a 4-0 lead and a 6-4 lead. With Pham, Molina, Norris all getting hurt today. :stoneface:
 
Guy Tweets Javy has a home run in the 12th, 13th, and 15th in his career.

I tweet #PleaseGod as he bats in the 14th.

Farrell gave up a 2-run walkoff yesterday.

Tonight he K's the first two hitters, gives up a single/slash error by Javy (it was crushed, Javy made a great play but threw high) and Fowler, yes, Dexter Fowler, with two strikes, hits one one inch over Heyward's glove for yet another walkoff Homer.

Cards had no Yadi, no Pham, and no Norris, and sweep us with two walk offs. :smh:
 
Well......can't score for **** for two weeks, tonight we face the best ERA in the league and score 14. :lol:

Solo homers for 3 weeks straight, tonight we get a 2-run KB, 3-run Javy, 2-run Happ, and 3-run Happ.

Darvish to the DL, just for the flu tho, will skip a start only.

Bryant with some savvy base running and the go ahead run.

Recovered nicely with sweep of the Marlins.

KB Homer, Rizzo Homer, Russell Homer.

Almora, Rizzo, Contreras, Russell all with 3 hits.

Contreras with a Grand Slam, Solo Homer, 2-run double and another double. :wow:

Bryant a bomb, 2 walks, HBP, and RBI single.

Today, Rizzo a 3-run Homer, and Contreras adds another 2-run bomb.

They are heating up. :pimp:
 
Thought we were lookin at a loss last night, but Almora double, Russell double, and Zobrist single in the 9th brings us back. :pimp:

Alzolay possibly starting in the doubleheader on Saturday? :nerd:

Happ homered in both games, including the Cubs' all-time 13,999th and 14,000th home runs in history.

Quintana with 7 shutout innings allowing only 1 hit.

Absolutely must win tomorrow with Darvish to take 3 of 4 from the Reds. Can't split with them.
 
Yu started slow with a 39 pitch first inning, but he threw 5 more great innings after that and we take 3 of 4.

Schwarber and Baez go back to back, Zobrist adds one of his own.

Bryant and Russell sit and we still win easy.

For all the struggles, lineup is starting to deepen. Almora hitting well, Happ is walking like crazy, Javy/Schwarber have stepped up, really just need Rizzo to be his usual self and we'll be in good shape.

yep! Just keep up with the pack. Once Rizzo come around. i think we will take control of the division. we gotta take at least 2 from Cleveland
 
Interesting last couple days. Darvish back on the DL, Chatwood a horrific first inning vs the Giants giving up 3 runs, then the Cubs scoring 8 unanswered, followed by a day game in Pitt winning that 7-0 with Mike Montgomery filling in for Yu. :pimp:

Baez a 3-run bomb vs SF to break it open, Rizzo a solo bomb vs Pitt, Addison a pinch hit 2-run shot to extend a 1-0 game.

Almora playin so we'll, he's making the case to be the everyday CF, Happ may be relegated to splitting time with Heyward.

Now we get Lester/Hendricks/Quintana the next 3 games, need them to get a run goin, make up some ground.
 
1-1 in the 14th, Cubs score 6 on a 2 run double from Almora, 2 run double from Zobrist, and a 2 run Baez bomb. :pimp:
 
Unreal 7th inning.

Cubs sit Bryant, Rizzo, and Zobrist to start the game after 14 innings last night.

0-0 game, Baez and Contreras start the inning with singles, first and third nobody out, Happ up batting right handed, first pitch Contreras starts and stops like he's gonna steal. (Lefty on the mound)

Next pitch, Contreras takes big lead, pitcher attempts the pickoff and Baez steals home (with Contreras then stealing second on the throw home) :wow: :pimp:

Schwarber singles but is robbed of the RBI when the second baseman dives to keep the ball in the infield.

Zobrist comes in to bat for Addison who left with an injury to his left finger, pops up on the first pitch, caught by the second baseman and Contreras manages to tag and score on the "Sac Fly" :lol: :pimp:

Schwarber then stole second base after that but was stranded.

2-0 in the 8th, 7 scoreless from Lester. Finish this off please.
 
And they do. 4 game sweep of the Mets in NY.

Day off tomorrow, then the Phillies for 3, but we will not face Arrieta.

Hope Addy is ok. Darvish and CJ both already on the DL, can't afford to lose Addy for any stretch.
