Happy new year here is the new 2026 boxing thread lets get it popping

Didn't realize there was a new thread. From the other one.

Usyk taking easy fights I see

Think we get a great teo performance. Don’t think Shakur will be ready to step up in weight and earn the respect of Teo

Can there be any buzz without any major marquee matchups? Just a bunch of scraps.

Boxing can't get any worse than what is is right now.

Dana White can only help.

How? American boxing is a dead sport and has been for years.

Shakur vs Teo are the 2 best fighters at 140 fighting in 2 weeks and NO ONE cares lol. PBC ran American boxing into the dirt for the past 10-15 years and everyone's paying for it now.
Disagree. For every 1 “mega fight” there are 20 other events that take place. Amateur events are also entertaining to watch. The sport is fine. The issue is it’s peddled that the “only thing worth watching” only exists within a handful of names. That’s simply not true. That’s like saying you only watch the OKC Thunder or nothing at all for basketball.

20 other events that no one cares about is exactly the point I'm trying to make here. Boxing is watered down because no big names fight each other in addition to fighters not fighting enough.

So ill ask again, what exactly can Dana white do to boxing besides force fighters to fight each other? Wouldn't that be helping?

I miss Friday night fights on espn

Was a great place for the up and comers to prove themselves and build a name before jumping to the ppv circuit
Dana and Zuffa seem to be taking a page from this model but having fights in their Apex always feels so soulless.

Only problem is that network ain’t gonna be a place for casuals or new fans like the espn model.

I agree on the soul less part

Dana white and boxing ain’t a good mix

But where can we watch those 20 other events? We have to search high and low on the internet to find boxing now. Once the networks stop showing weekly or monthly matches, that doesn’t scream dead to you?

I love the sport like most yall in here, but we get big fights on Saturdays mid day because it’s in a different time zone and fighters that don’t want to get on the ring and fight each other.
