Official 2026 Boxing Thread:Zayas vs Ennis 6/27 DAZN

judges were consistent, like i said the commentators make it sound like dude was doing better than expected so they were glazing him too much and then when they showed the compubox, it was even or usyk had more connects

Do you mean punching arms and gloves while leaning on your opponent aren’t meaningfully valued?

Good stoppage, dude was just trying to survive and defend himself but all those punches were still going through his guard

Go home, recover, ask for a rematch

Idk what commentating got to do with anything. We got music and gambling going.

We just saw a kickboxer make his boxing debut and make arguably one of the best heavyweight champs look average.
Say what you want about size and weight but that’s what Heavyweight boxing is.

im saying commentators can make the boxer look good and seem like he is winning, they make it seems like its a complete domination but the punches were mostly blocked and again, like you said the kickboxer was impressive so the commentators makes a bigger deal about him standing there toe to toe with Usyk but dude wasnt dominating like they were saying

so a lot of viewers are calling it a robbery because they make it sound like Usyk wasnt doing anything but connected punches are about even, hell even Ricos face looked mroe damaged than Usyk even before the 11th round

all night they keep saying Pico was jabbing usyk to death but compubox clearly says dude threw more but connected less, same with Ricos more thudding punches to the arms and gloves, so if you're listening and not really paying much attention how much is actually connecting then you think dude has a huge lead but the judges sees those being blocked

plus on the 11th round, i agree, its a quick stoppage but dude was also struggling to put on his mouthpiece int he corner and got a good 20-30 second and was wobbly so i can see it on the refs pov

I have my issue with compubox but that aside let’s just take a moment. At this weight every punch takes a toll whether square or not.
This dude never went more than 5 rds, ever.

I agree tho connect rate seemed about even, but Rico was more imposing. We watching heavyweights not bantamweights. Through 10 before that 11th, I couldn’t find more than 4 rounds for Usyk. I was kinda looking forward to the cards to see Turkey fill out the other judges scorecards.
Won’t take anything away from Usyk, been a fan. But this was supposed to be some exhibition type joint for him

no argument there for me, even from the get go i was confused what was going on wit usyk, i cant imagine he took dude too seriously

and again, props to the kicboxer, it sounds crazy what he did but it just wasnt a flat out robbery that everyone is saying and it wasnt going to be a landslide win if it goes to the scorecards

but most of the time, flashy punches that hits arms and gloves arent what judges score you on whether it takes a toll or not shouldnt matter when it comes to scoring if its not a clean shot and thats maybe where some people get fooled with ring generalship when in fact if majority of it are blocked, thats Usyks defense that gets him the points

but it is what it is, this isnt the first time usyks been in these controversial decisions and i think this one is less blatant in compared to the others

Heavyweight division in combat sports is kind of a joke sometimes.

There are weight classes for a reason, but in the heavyweight division a guy can outweigh his opponent by 40 pounds or more and no one thinks twice about it.
