I think the goal is ad revenue. They added hydration breaks to air commercials. Add a halftime show with an artist to attract their fans, viewership goes up, charge more for ad space.

Americanizing the beautiful game. Wouldn't be surprised if they start airing commercials during VAR reviews, add timeouts, etc. in few years time.

Do either England or Argentina have a chance against this team?

They’re surgical in a way that’s kind of scary.

They kind of remind me of the 2014 San Antonio Spurs.

For any NBA fans who remember that team.

Do the third place games game toward goal totals? Can Mbappe still outscore Messi and get the golden cleat and balloons Hors d'oeuvres
Yeah he can technically still get Golden Boot and Player of the Tournament if he shows out in the 3rd place match.

He might need to go full dictator and have the French team turn into the Suns or Heat for the unethical stat pad.

Its actually the other way around. Pop and the Spurs was influenced by the Spanish 2010 WC team and Barcelona with the Tika Taka style of play with ball movement and possession.

Spain went through a changing of the guards so they're only getting back to where they were 15+ years ago.

Realistically IMO its Argentina due to their form right now and star power because of Messi but technically England matches up better. They have more physicality and size that can give Spain some issues.

England has the weakest chemistry and defense of the 3 and less international and professional experience from their starters so it's tough to gauge.

Spain were favorites pre-tourny and they should be favorites heading into Sunday regardless who wins tmrw.

Interesting. ESPN dropping the ball again. Not sure how things will pan out with these rights. But people are tired for paying for new streaming apps. I know I won’t be if that is the case. I do enjoy catching Bundesliga games so it will be missed

Do you remember when pretty much every league used to be on FuboTV in the early 2010s?

I’ve lost track of how many subscriptions I need, which channel has which league (since they change every year), which games are excluded…

I have free Peacock from Xfinity, and even though it claims to have the Premier League, it doesn’t even let me watch most of the big matches. It’ll probably force me to upgrade to a higher tier on top of that, and even then I bet it won’t air everything.

Vaguely, I remember the frustration of not being able to watch a bunch of games  . The 730am match is never available to stream and whatever matches they have on USA too. I thought about upgrading my Peacock account once but nah I’m good. Over the last couple of years, all these streaming services went up in price too. I like the Bundesliga but I’m not paying for another service for just that
i didnt even know fandango had streaming thought it was just to buy movie tickets
The app used to be Vudu, I don’t think I ever used it but they have some free content but most of it pay-per-view and I believe USA is the same way, if not TV provider login. Again, strange move, unless they air some matches for free. But are people going to really pay for a service that’s not that popular to watch the Bundesliga? HBO, Prime, Apple, if one of those had gotten the rights, that makes sense to me. Good platforms, popular and could grow the brand. But we shall see

Just past midnight here on the west coast so it’s officially Argentina vs England day.

All I have to say is Vamos Argentina 🇦🇷 and:

No disrespect to Dechamps on their way out the door but he got walked down tactically today.
I feel for him a little with Digne going brain dead for a second and his generational attack turning into Ligue 2 players, but yeah, a better coach probably makes it more of a game. Still think Spain beats them more times than not.

He should’ve stayed with the in form player and started Kone over Tchouameni. Barcola was the right call on the left because he does the most defending out of all their attackers. If it still plays out like it did in the first 45, then you drop Olise or Dembele and put in Emery to even the numbers in midfield. If you’re still chasing for an equalizer then you throw on Cherki to see if he can create something out of nothing.
