Sucks the grey wool option seems to be gone, im not into plaid too much but been digging the way the black wool looks (jet black looking) as seen in the previous pics above. Thinking of maybe doing a simple colorway like a AJ1 metallic gold colorway

Minus the duckboot sole, n maybe metallic gold lace lock but black looks better/cleaner IMO

but you can spray down the flax with a water repellent. i have always used the foot locker stuff, but just bought the Jason Mark Repel and gonna give it a try on some pairs.
