i believe the check on the sides were black with grey contrast stitching

the shape of mids back then were just too good
still mad i slacked on the bumblebees

The black mids with the grey stitching and outsole were literally the first pair of forces I ever had

I believe they had the ones with yellow stitching as well but went with grey cause The color is more wearable

I love mids. I wish we could change the color on the mini swoosh on the Velcro.


I chose the upper, lining, and laces to be anthracite.

Swoosh, and Nike Air logo, durabrae wolf grey.

Ironically there were way fewer af1 releases and sneaker releases in general.

For a long while Nike did one limited edition colorway per month for forces, every now and then we would get a special QS or a dope women’s pair would drop as well, otherwise it was just once a month.


Retro Jordan’s were like that for a long time as well. Now there’s a retro or 2 every weekend. Totally takes the fun outta “having the new jays”.

They stopped posting it I think after the 25th anniversary

at the height of AF1 popularity, early through mid 2000s, there was new set of AF1s always releasing each month. can't remember exactly but I want to say it was the first Wednesday or Thursday of the month that they would release.
