This is why I took a risk on sizing and ordered the SB's. That weird plastic-looking swoosh on modern flaxes is terrible, and my 8-year old pair finally got relegated to lawn shoes (replacing the ancient Pendleton ID's). Anyways, the swoosh on the SB flax's is also slightly different, but with this pair I appreciate the contrast. Basically it's an ever-so-slightly napped suede over a fairly smooth nubuck. Leather backtab is also different, I guess, but it's also nice.
For those who care, I sized up to 11 from my normal AF1 10.5. My issue is width: usually I need to re-lace any new AF1 out of the box before I can even wear it and usually I don't bother with the last eyelets. With "normal" AF1 10.5, I have about a quarter inch more length in the toes than I'd like. The SB 11's fit pretty well without replacing and there is probably too much gap in the toes. Maybe I'll get some shoe fillers.
I'm tempted to try the Oreowood in 10.5, but I suspect they'll be too narrow to wear comfortably. But given that I'd almost always choose Linens over those, it might not matter. Haha, except for the $200 or whatever StockX wants...

Shape is nice in person, upper feels good and after trying them on while doing a re lace I’m glad I didn’t size down.

Keep getting an itch to grab a pair of those SBs but as a size 12 in forces I can not imagine going up to a 13. Just one of those shoes where it has to be a perfect fit in order to wear.

I went TTS on the sbs (I go .5 down for regular af1)
Felt like I could’ve have sticked with my normal AF1. I got a little big of wiggle room in the toes for my liking.

If it’s the lack of forefoot cushioning, I understand and I dislike it too, but it’s made for skateboarding purposes for better board feel

Seems like others are saying size up. Kind of just been skimming through comments. Wouldn’t do it regardless. Probably a shoe just not meant for me to grab. Haven’t seen them in a size 12.5 so 13 would be my only alternative unfortunately.
